Arsenal are said to be keeping a close watch on Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as Wenger looks to make quality additions to his backline next summer.

Following the summer of intense transfer activity which saw Gunners boost their ranks with the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this winter – in addition to wrapping Mesut Ozil contract extension – Arsenal are set to continue the strong and resolute pace in the market.

Led by the new chief scout Sven Mislintat, the Gunners are said to be focusing on adding a top-class defender and it appears that Napoli star kalidou Koulibaly is topping the list.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been under intense pressure over the past couple of months with constant speculation about his possible departure.

The 68-year-old tactician, however, claims he plans to see out the remainder of his deal with Arsenal which will see him remain with the club for the next year and a half.

Wenger signed a two-year extension with Arsenal at the end of last season despite missing out on the Champions League spot and with Gunners looking likely to remain out of the top four for a second successive season, fresh speculation has risen suggesting that Wenger could leave the club earlier than planned.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been enduring a difficult time at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.

The 22-year-old has made only six Premier League starts this season whereas he was being pushed in and out of the first-team for the best part of Mourinho’s reign at Manchester United.

The Portuguese boss has most recently reintroduced Shaw into his team and even claimed that Shaw will be offered a new deal to extend his stay beyond the 2018/19 season when his current contract will expire.

Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup could be set for a return to Arsenal, six years after leaving the north London club without ever making a single first-team appearance in the Premier League.

Former Arsenal academy graduate who won successive Premier Academy League titles in 2008/09 and 2009/10 and lifted the FA Youth Cup of 2008/09 moved to Turkey in 2012 and went on to establish himself as a valuable first-team member with Besiktas.

As a full Turkey international and one of the key players for his side, Ozyakup is heading into the final six months of his deal with Besiktas and is free to open talks with interested parties ahead of the summer move.

According to a number of reports in England, Arsenal have expressed interest in signing the in-form Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has enjoyed quite a run at the Hornets which saw him top the club’s scoring charts with seven goals in the Premier League. He also recorded two assists for Javi Garcia’s charges.

Doucoure’s flying form has put plenty of top sides on alert with Arsenal and Tottenham believed to be sitting in a front row for his signature. Mauricio Pochettino has kept a close eye on the midfielder over past couple of weeks and the Argentine tactician was reportedly at Watford’s 4-1 win over Chelsea last week to watch Doucoure in action.

The 15-year-old striker is enjoying a rather prolific spell with the Catalan club in the Cadet A division where he is currently the leading goal scorer with 18 goals in his tally.

Described as a player with ‘killer instinct’, Pablo Moreno has already attracted plenty of interest from some of Europe’s leading clubs – most notably Premier League rivals Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Arsenal are reportedly negotiating a contract extension with Ainsley Maitland-Niles who is set to be rewarded for steady progress he displayed over the past couple of months with the first team, ESPN has learned.

The 20-year-old made his senior debut with the Gunners in December 2014 but it was not until this season that he managed to seal a regular starting berth in the first team.

Maitland-Niles was handed his first Premier League start for Arsenal against West Ham in December 2017 and he went on to make five starts ever since, adding four substitute appearances in England’s top flight this term.
