As reported by Arsenal.com, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been officially confirmed as Arsenal’s Player of the Month for August. The club released the following statement confirming the award, as the forward continues to reign supreme as one of the top stars in English football.
A deserved award
“Congratulations to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is our first Player of the Month of the 2019/20 season. The Gabon international was in fine form throughout August, scoring the only goal of the game as we beat Newcastle on the opening day.
Auba was on target again as we beat Burnley at Emirates Stadium, cutting in from the left before firing in an unstoppable winner.
The forward was also on hand to lay on an assist for Lucas Torreira in our defeat at Liverpool.
Reaching his potential
Auba received 34 per cent of the votes cast, with Joe Willock in second place and Matteo Guendouzi in third.”
Now, the question is how far can he go. It’s clear to see that there’s some great potential there for him to become one of Arsenal’s all-time great strikers, but it’s all about taking things one step at a time.
He will always go down as a phenomenal goalscorer, but now, he needs to help the club reach that next level – before his time at the Emirates ends, at the very least.
Would you have given the award to Auba?
