Tomorrow night, Arsenal will attempt to finally get back on the winning trail when they lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates. Ever since returning to the Premier League, Wolves have been able to string together two incredibly impressive seventh place finishes – and while they may have lost Doherty & Jota, there’s every chance they’ll replicate that feat this time around.
Still, with just one win over Arsenal since 1979, it’s clear to see that the Gunners – for whatever reason – have done a better job of containing Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in comparison to the other top six teams. Alas, they’re definitely dangerous, and manager Mikel Arteta admitted that during a recent interview with Arsenal.com.
“Obviously it is different and you could see the way they finished the second half in the last game [against Southampton],” Mikel Arteta said.
“We know we have to be prepared to go against both situations, in the back three formation they have different options to play as well and they are threat in different areas, so we need to get prepared like we always do.
“[It is] a really tough game, they are one of the most organised teams in the league for sure.
“They have been together for a long time, they have shown in big games against big opponents how difficult they can make it so I am expecting a difficult game against a team that dominates almost every aspect of the game I would say. They know exactly what to do.”
Can Arsenal pick up all three points against Wolves on Sunday?
