Arsene Wenger is refusing to let Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez leave the club unless he has a suitable replacement lined up for the player. This is despite the fact that Premier League rivals Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move for the forward in the January transfer window.
Arsenal face a very tough test in the form of Chelsea this evening as they look to put one foot in the final of the Carabao Cup. The first-leg of their semi-final will be played at Stamford Bridge, and if the Gunners can put in a strong performance away from home, then it will put them in the driving seat for the return leg.
Every single one of their players will be massively important then, and they will likely have to be on top form if they are to beat a Chelsea side that have looked very good in recent weeks. Indeed, they will need their best player Alexis Sanchez to be firing on all cylinders, although this may be difficult for the Chilean as there has been so much speculation surrounding his future.
Despite the noise, Arsene Wenger will not let Sanchez leave unless Arsenal line up a suitable replacement, according to the Mirror.
While the draw of receiving money for Sanchez in January rather than letting him go for free in the summer may be large, Wenger is well within his rights to refuse to let the player move unless the void he would leave is filled.
