Arsene Wenger claims his side have ‘offensive weapons’ ahead of their game against Manchester United
Arsenal hammered Huddersfield in a 5-0 win on Wednesday evening as they maintained their superb form in the Premier League. However, there were negatives from the game, with Alexandre Lacazette picking up an injury, but Arsene Wenger is confident his side have the weapons to win the game.
Arsenal easily brushed aside a Huddersfield outfit that ran leaders Manchester City very close in their last game, with a late Raheem Sterling goal enough to steal a 2-1 win. Goals from Lacazette, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and a double from Olivier Giroud saw the Gunners overcome their opponents with ease.
The win means they have solidified their hold on fourth-place, with Liverpool two points behind, and Chelsea a single point in front. The Gunners were supposedly in the middle of a crisis a few weeks ago, so their place in the table and current form is exceptionally impressive.
Their next mission sees Wenger’s men take on second-placed Manchester United, but they will have to play that game without Lacazette, who picked up a groin injury in their win over Huddersfield. Wenger is not worried though, as he told the Mirror: “We have offensive weapons, you know. We have Welbeck, we have Giroud, we have Wilshere who all came on. They are all offensive players. I will see what I do for Saturday but ideally you wanted Lacazette there”.
Of course, Lacazette was Wenger’s preferred option, but Giroud hasonly solidified his claim to start with yet another strong performance from the bench.
