Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on Ostersunds’ forward Saman Ghoddos after the Iranian put in a very impressive display against Arsenal in the first-leg of their Europa League tie.
Arsenal are facing a huge week in their season as they gear up for two massive games in less than a week.
The Gunners travel to Wembley to take on Manchester City in the final of the EFL Cup. The two sides have navigated incredibly tricky routes to the final and will now be desperate to pick up the first piece of available silverware this season.
Before that though, Arsenal must complete their two-legged tie against Ostersunds in the Europa League. The side were beaten 3-0 by the Gunners in the first-leg after a dominant display from Arsene Wenger’s outfit.
With such an important match to come on the weekend, Wenger will be pleased that his side were able to create such a large buffer, with Ostersunds facing huge odds to even win the game at the Emirates, let alone turn around the three-goal deficit.
One man that will be gunning to get on the scoresheet and give Arsenal a difficult night is forward Saman Ghoddos. The Iranian impressed in the first-leg and Arsene Wenger heaped praise on him as he told the BBC: “He is a fantastic player, technically and tactically. I was very impressed with him. The whole team is playing good football”.
Ghoddos will hope he can help his side upset the odds on Thursday, and if he can get on the scoresheet then maybe some of Europe’s bigger clubs will sit up and take notice of the player.
