Arsenal’s team news heading into Newcastle game

Posted on January 18, 2021 by Harry Kettle

Arsenal fans will be feeling confident heading into the game against Newcastle United, if only because they were able to beat them just a matter of days ago in the FA Cup. Still, there are plenty of questions that have been left unanswered so far this season, and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the Gunners can handle the pressure of actually being expected to comfortably win a game of football.

Before all of the festivities kick off later at the Emirates, Arsenal.com has provided fans with an idea of what to expect regarding the team news.

Gabriel Martinelli
Right ankle. Gabi is now back in full training and is available for selection.

Pablo Mari
Right calf. Pablo has sustained a mild strain to his calf and will continue to rehabilitate in the coming days.

Kieran Tierney
Right calf. Kieran has recovered from his tight calf and is back in training with the squad. Kieran will be assessed and tested ahead of Monday’s match.

As part of Premier League protocol, all members of our first team squad and support staff continue to be regularly tested for COVID-19.”

Should Arsenal be viewed as strong favourites heading into this game?
