It took a while for word to officially come through but unfortunately, the worst did happen over the weekend as Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur was delayed. The highly-anticipated North London derby was expected to be an intriguing battle between two sides who are still trying to figure out their identity in a new era.
Alas, we won’t get any answers to the “who is the most dominant team in North London” for a while yet as the masses wait to see what comes next. As per Arsenal.com, the following statement was made regarding the decision.
“We are disappointed to announce that Sunday’s north London derby at Tottenham Hotspur has been postponed.
We know how much this match means to our fans around the world, but the Premier League has made the decision to postpone the match, due to many players across our squad currently being unavailable as a result of COVID-19, existing and recent injuries, in addition to players away with their countries at AFCON.
We will update you when we have further information regarding the rearrangement of the fixture. Any tickets purchased for this fixture will be valid for the rescheduled date. All updates will be shared on Arsenal.com.
