Kolasinac in Leverkusen talks
After goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who left to join Aston Villa, Sead Kolasinac could be the next senior player to leave the Emirates in this transfer window. According to PA Sport, the Bosnian left back is currently in talks with Bayer Leverkusen about a proposed return to Germany.
Kolasinac gradually lost his place on the left defensive flank to Kieran Tierney, and though Mikel Arteta has utilized him in a back three, some howling mistakes clearly indicated that he can’t be a long-term solution there either.
The 27-year-old would arguably still make a good backup option, but his willingness to settle for that is questionable. So far, he has played for Arsenal 105 times in all competitions, scoring five goals and assisting 15, since his arrival from Schalke 04 three years ago.
Aouar keen on Arsenal move
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a bid of €40 million (£36.4m) for Houssem Aouar of Olympique Lyon as Mikel Arteta looks to add creativity to his midfield section, and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old is keen on a move to the Emirates.
However, nothing has been agreed yet, which means there is a long way to go for that one to be completed.
Runarsson to have medical
According to The Telegraph, Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson is set to undergo a medical today (Thursday) ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal.
The 25-year-old Iceland international has been earmarked as a replacement for Martinez and should serve as a first backup option to Bernd Leno.
The Gunners have apparently agreed a deal worth around £1.5m for his services (seems a bargain after Martinez leaving for around £20m, doesn’t it?).
Barcelona wanted Aubameyang
We’ll round off this recap of transfer rumours with one not very likely to get anyone’s blood hot right now.
According to Sky Sports, Barcelona had made an offer for the services of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but their hopes were dashed completely the moment he penned his new contract with Arsenal.
