North London club Arsenal have decided to reward their promising starlets Eddie Nketiah, Matt Macey and Ben Sheaf with new deals at the Emirates.
Arsenal confirmed via a statement on their official website that the talented trio has agreed new deals with the Gunners after making their first-team debut this season.
Arsene Wenger has this season used a number of youth team players in the Europa League and Carabao Cup which allowed him to keep his first-team players fresh for the Premier League challenges.
Among the youngsters used this season, Eddie Nketiah has made the most appearances for the first team this term. The 18-year-old prospect made three Europa League outings, whereas he also added one in the EFL Cup.
Nketiah used his time on the pitch wisely to make a big impression, especially in the Carabao Cup Round of 16 against Norwich City when the England U-19 international scored a brace to help Gunners come from behind and claim a 2-1 victory that saw them progress to the next stage.
Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his talented youngster and promised Nketiah would be given more playing time this campaign.
Arsenal’s final group stage clash in the Europa League against BATE Borisov on Thursday night might be the perfect chance for Gunners fans to once again see the young gem in action. Arseal are given 23/20 betting odds to register a HT/FT home win against the Belarusian side.
Matt Macey has managed to establish himself as the Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper and was given the opportunity to shine when David Ospina suffered an injury earlier this term. He was a starter against Red Star Belgrade and Norwich City.
Ben Sheaf only managed a couple of minutes in Belgrade this season for Arsenal first-team but the 19-year-old is kept in high regard among Arsenal youth coaches and is tipped to make a break into the fold soon enough.
