Serbian midfielder Mladen Micanovic could be on his way to the Emirates, with the club offering him a trial to prove his worth this summer.
The 17-year-old, who currently plays for Serbian First League side FK Javor Ivanjica, will train with the Gunners first-team ahead of a potential £100K transfer should he impress.
Serie A giants Inter Milan were reportedly interested too, but Arsenal appear to have won the race, according to the Metro.
Micanovic is very versatile. He can play centre-back and right-back, but is more adept in midfield. He has a fantastic eye for a pass, and his great distribution is one of his greatest strengths. The youngster is adept at ball retention, but has alarming accuracy with his long-range passing that could prove deadly if developed correctly.
He plays as a deep-lying playmaker, while being robust in the tackle. Almost a young hybrid of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta.
A highlights reel of Micanovic can be seen on YouTube.
While this summer has seen Arsenal signing expensive experienced players, manager Arsene Wenger is still not ignoring his penchant for youth talent. Micanovic would be in good hands if he did join Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners 7/5 to win a piece of silverware this season.
