Should Arsenal look at signing Bayern’s Mario Mandzukic?

Posted on June 08, 2014 by Crippy Cooke

With Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic potentially leaving the club due to the arrival of former Borussia Dortmund front man Robert Lewandowski, should Arsenal look at procuring his signature this summer?

The 28-year-old, a Croatian international, has enjoyed a good last campaign in the German Bundesliga, scoring 18 goals and making four assists in 30 league games. He boasts a 23% conversion rate, which is better than Arsenal’s first-choice striker Olivier Giroud, and he could be open to a move to the Premier League to ensure he gets regular action.

Mandzukic can also create goals. He’s made 30 chances in the league, while making four assists.

Arsenal are 3/1 to win the race to sign Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, who is likely to play second-fiddle to Lewandowski next season.

The Croat will be playing in the World Cup this summer, so Arsenal supporters will be able to get a good glimpse of his ability. He job is exclusively to score goals which is something the Gunners have been lacking at times this season.

Arsenal want to continue adding to their silverware next season, and have already said they want to bring in top players who are available within their budget.
