Arsenal in race for Brazilian talent Endrick?

Posted on October 21, 2022 by Veselin Trajkovic

Arsenal have reportedly entered the race for Brazilian talent Endrick Felipe. The other contestants for the signature of the 16-year-old include Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Endrick currently plays for Palmeiras, where he rose through the academy ranks, and having earned first-team promotion this summer, the young striker has so far only played twice at senior level. He is yet to score a goal, but playing for the Under-20s, he scored six in seven matches and he’s obviously rated very highly.

Endrick is under contract with his current club until the summer of 2025, and he’s not expected to actually move across the Atlantic until he turns 18.  Nonetheless, the scouting services across Europe are obviously aware of his talent and are watching his progress closely, seeking to put a claim on him as soon as possible and avoid paying through the roof once he breaks through.

Arsenal have recently done extremely well with signing a very young Brazilian attacker. The player in question currently has four goals and two assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s team this season and has certainly justified all the faith placed in his quality when he was brought in from Ituano three years ago. He goes, of course, by the name of Gabriel Martinelli, and should Endrick end up in North London, the 21-year-old winger could be of great help to him in terms of support and settling in.

Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva believes Endrick would be a fine signing for the Gunners, and though he warns that winning this race won’t be easy, he also believes that having Edu Gaspar negotiating a potential deal would come as a strong boost for the chances of getting it done. It’s worth mentioning that Edu managed to complete the deals which saw Gabriel Jesus and Marquinhos arrive to the Emirates this summer.
