Arsenal eyeing double swoop for Porto stars
London-based club Arsenal are thought to be hot on the trail of two Porto star performers, according to the Portuguese media.
The Premier League heavyweights are thought to have sent the scouts to Estadio do Dragao this weekend, for Porto’s clash with Moreirense in order to monitor the two targets – Andre Silva and Danilo Pereira.
The in-form striker Andre Silva has been putting in some remarkable displays for his team throughout the season thus far with numbers speaking volumes of his ability.
The 21-year-old attacker has bagged 11 goals in 17 Primeira Liga appearances -including the Sunday’s game with Moreirense. Silva added five more in the UEFA Champions League this season, which helped him draw the attention from Europe’s top football clubs.
The talented striker also made a name for himself playing for Portugal under Fernando Santos.
Arsenal are reportedly keen on adding the versatile forward to their ranks as Wenger believes Silva would be a valuable addition to his side in the push towards the Premier League glory.
In addition to Silva, Arsenal are also thought to be monitoring Porto midfielder Danilo, who joined the Portugal giants from Maritimo back in 2015. Danilo has since then become a key figure for the Dragons, also establishing himself as a first-choice for Portugal A Selecao side which went on to win the Euro 2016 in France.
Danilo is known to be a formidable force in the centre of the park, providing great cover for the back line and could also be a valuable addition to Arsenal’s vulnerable midfield.
If Arsenal are to step up their pursuit of the talented duo, they will have to match Porto’s whopping valuation of the players which currently stands at €60 million for Andre Silva and another €40 million for Danilo.
