We’re still in the midst of the international break but instead of feeling down about that, there’s cause for celebration – and not just because the rule of six is back.
The celebration stems from Arsenal being back in action this weekend. They’ll be hosting Liverpool on Saturday night at the Emirates with the knowledge that a win could get them right back into the top six – and potentially even top four – conversation.
We aren’t saying it’s likely but what we are saying is this: it’s great to see domestic football back on the horizon. It’s not as if it’s been gone for months, as was the case at the height of the pandemic, but many fans have lost a bit of their love for international football over the last few years.
In its place we’ve all seen the Gunners at the highest of highs and lowest of lows, and it’s starting to feel as if we could be heading for a few more highs under Mikel Arteta. There’s no guarantee of that, but we’re still feeling confident about the next few weeks, months and maybe even years.
Will Arsenal get off to a winning start as the final stretch of the season begins?
