North London club Arsenal are said to have agreed a deal to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi in January.
According to reports coming from the Spanish publication El Gol, Gunners have reached an agreement with La Liga side Sevilla over a £35.3 million transfer which will be made official once the transfer market reopens in January.
The transfer package which will see N’Zonzi return to the Premier League will include £32.7 million for the transfer fee, plus additional £2.6 million in bonuses.
The French defensive midfielder’s future has been the subject of intense speculation over the past couple of months with Sevilla star being linked with the likes of Everton and Juventus.
Former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City man has once again hit headlines following his team’s Champions League fixture with Liverpool when N’Zonzi had a bust-up with head coach Eduardo Berizzo.
The pair clashed at half-time and N’Zonzi has been left out of the squad ever since.
‘The coach pointed the finger at me [at half-time of the Liverpool game]. I will not repeat it… but his words affected me.’, N’Zonzi told France Football.
The 28-year-old midfielder made it clear his future now lies away from Sevilla and is sure to leave the La Liga outfit come January with Arsenal believed to have rushed to secure a deal to bring N’Zonzi back to England.
French international spent six years playing in England before moving to Spain in 2015 and will bring bags of quality and experience to Arsenal midfield.
