It has been a rather frustrating season for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The Spanish forward came back to Santiago Bernabeu at the beginning of the season hoping he would be given a more prominent first-team role alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
Opposite to his expectations, the former Juventus frontman has largely struggled thus far, making only 6 La Liga starts for Los Blancos.
The 24-year-old Spanish international has used his playing time wisely, making the best of his limited influence to score five La Liga goals and add two more in the Copa del Rey and additional pair in the UEFA Champions League.
Despite his solid goalscoring exploits, Morata remains on the margins with Real Madrid and is believed to be searching for a swift solution to his situation. Morata has made sure his frustrations get noticed by Real Madrid hierarchy and Florentino Perez is believed to be disappointed with the player’s attitude.
Los Blancos are willing to let their striker go for offers in the region of €60 million and according to reports from the Spanish media outlet Diario Gol, Alvaro Morata is contemplating a summer move to Arsenal.
The Gunners have shown long-standing and well-documented interest in Real Madrid striker and could move to take advantage of the current situation and get another high-profile striker on their books for the next season.
On his own part, Morata needs to move away from Real Madrid in order to get regular first-team football which would help him build a strong position ahead of the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.
