Alex Iwobi says he is grateful to have the chance to play with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Alex Iwobi has insisted that he is ‘grateful’ to play alongside the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil with Arsenal this season as the young star looks to help the Premier League side return to the Champions League this season.
Arsenal were able to claim a very comfortable win in the Europa League on Thursday evening. Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil netted for the Gunners while Ostersunds’ Sotirios Papagiannopoulos scored an own goal to complete the 3-0 scoreline.
Arsenal will now feel that they are well placed to progress into the next round of the Europa League. With the side now eight points short of Chelsea in fourth-place in the Premier League, it is looking increasingly likely that the Gunners will have to focus upon winning the Europa League if they are to return to the Champions League.
Arsenal’s attacking-line will likely prove to be one that every side in the competition struggles to contain, with the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi superb. Indeed, the latter is enjoying the time he is spending with his two teammates as they look to take back a Champions League place.
Iwobi told The Mirror: ““I’m still learning, I’m still young. I’m still learning from the lads like Mesut Ozil and Mkhitaryan. Every time I play, I am grateful”.
Playing with Mkhitaryan and Ozil will only improve Iwobi as the two are among the finest creative players in world football. The trio will be looking to finish the job against Ostersunds next Thursday as they seek to win the Europa League.
