A look at Arsenal’s first six games of the season

Posted on September 06, 2020 by Harry Kettle

The Premier League is set to return next weekend as the Gunners prepare to make another push for the top four – and potentially even beyond. It’s been a strong start to the season with the Community Shield win, and things are about to get even more interesting.

This is the kind of game that should be viewed as a must win, and with Fulham being a newly promoted side that are still trying to work out what their best starting XI looks like, we’re going to assume Arsenal will pick up all three points. It may not be particularly convincing, but it’ll be enough.

West Ham

The Hammers appear to be in some kind of disarray, but they always have an answer when going up against Mikel Arteta’s men. A realistic prospect would be a draw, but a win could be vital – especially heading into a really tricky run of four games.

When you beat Liverpool twice in a row these days, that’s considered to be a pretty big deal. Unfortunately we do think the Reds are going to be the ones that hand the Gunners their first loss of the season, but we think it’ll be a close enough game to give Arteta confidence.

Sheffield United

Sheffield United may have had a phenomenal start to life back in the top flight last season, but there’s something telling us that they’ll struggle this time around. Arsenal should win this, and they should do so comfortably.

Manchester City

In perhaps one of our most pessimistic predictions in a long time, we believe Manchester City are going to take Arsenal to school. Guardiola isn’t going to have forgotten about the FA Cup loss, and he’ll be out for revenge.

We’re predicting a draw for this game because it’s the sort of tie Arsenal tend to through away, but we’re hoping that they can still pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Which of these games will be the trickiest for Arsenal?
