A different Chelsea?

Posted on June 14, 2019 by Harry Kettle

One of the biggest rivalries that is currently present at Arsenal Football Club is with Chelsea Football Club. The two London rivals have been battling back and forth for years and years on end, with both getting their hits in as time has gone on. They’ve had varying degrees of success, which is just a fact, but people only really tend to care about the next game as opposed to what has just happened. That’s just the way it is.

Arsenal are heading into the new season with their backs against the wall and there’s really no way of getting around that. They’ve got a lot of work to do, and one of the primary reasons for that is Chelsea. The Blues were the ones that beat them in the Europa League final, ensuring that they would not be playing Champions League football again next season.

They’ll be out for revenge and that much is obvious, but thankfully for them, it seems like they could receive a helping hand. That helping hand is in the form of big changes at Stamford Bridge, which could cause a bit of a ripple effect. In fact, we’re sure of it.

Maurizio Sarri

He’s had his ups and downs at Chelsea over the course of the last season, but the fact that Sarri is leaving Chelsea is a big blow for them. Juventus are going to be gaining a really solid manager, but at the same time, this is a big risk for the Blues. There are rumours that they’re going to be bringing Frank Lampard into the mix, but we aren’t so sure that’s going to work out quite as well.

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard was one of the best players in the Premier League and that’s just a fact. It was well known that he was probably going to be leaving the club, but not necessarily in the manner with which it happened. The Belgian is now a Real Madrid player, and just like that, Chelsea have lost their talisman. His loss cannot be understated, and we’re fascinated to see how they’re going to deal with this. Replacing one of the best players in the world is pretty much impossible, and when you add in the Champions League, they could struggle.

Do you think that the changes made at Chelsea are going to make a big difference to the team next season?
