Arsenal travel to face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday as Arsene Wenger renews his rivalry with Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal have been in far better form of late following a disappointing 2-1 loss at the hands of Watford. Since then they have gone unbeaten in the Premier League, Europa League and Carabao Cup.
Despite a 0-0 draw with Red Star Belgrade in their last game, Arsenal are in ideal form going into this one. The London side have been able to keep up with reigning champions Chelsea in the league, while they are just a single point behind Tottenham.
However, for all of their good form and the turnaround in their fortunes, they are still nine points behind Manchester City.
A defeat at the hands of City would not only destroy their momentum and cause morale to plummet, but it could also spell the end of their Premier League title hopes.
Of course, the Premier League is a place where the impossible can happen, but right now, it is difficult to see City dropping 12 points and Arsenal pouncing on this by winning all of their games.
While it is foolish to predict the way the season will go, many will agree that a nine-point gap between Arsenal and the top is bad, and 12 points might be insurmountable.
