According to the Telegraph, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is a target for three Premier League clubs this summer. The English international has just 12 months on his deal with the Gunners and has yet to have been offered a contract extension.
Wilshere spent last season on loan with AFC Bournemouth, citing the decision to leave due to a lack of opportunities at Arsenal. The playmaker is in a similar predicament this summer and may be considering his offers as a result – not to mention currently recovering from a broken leg. Swansea City, Newcastle United and West Ham United are keen on his signature.
City could well win the race for the midfielder as manager Paul Clement is desperate to replace the Everton-linked Gylfi Sigurdsson. Wilshere won’t come cheap this summer, however, reportedly rated at £20m by Arsenal, so the Swans may not offer for him until they receive the money for Sigurdsson.
Newcastle United, managed by former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, are also looking at Wilshere. The Magpies have steel in their midfield but are looking for creativity to ensure their forwards have the ammunition to score in a higher division. West Ham, a club Wilshere supported as a youngster, are also keen.
