Arsenal make the short trip to face West Ham on Boxing Day with the chance to reclaim their top spot in the table. While the match previews would suggest it will be a difficult task for the Gunners to get all three points, are West Ham really a side to fear of late?
Just one place and one point above the relegation zone, Sam Allardyce’s men just can’t score goals frequently enough this season – with the side having failed to score in nine of their 17 league outings. Winning a meagre three games this season just isn’t enough return after last season’s impressive maiden campaign for the Hammers following promotion from the Championship in 2012 – where they finished in 10th place.
As a result, it puts Arsenal firmly in the driving seat for tomorrow‘s clash, and the chance to pick up what would be only their second win in five games is something manager Arsene Wenger will be desperate for. He’s seen Liverpool overtake them recently, albeit on goal difference, while the Gunners have been dropping points in the league in December.
Arsenal are 8/13 to beat West Ham tomorrow despite the latter having home advantage. Will West Ham pose Arsenal any sort of threat?
