OGC Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère has revealed the club will sanction two more sales to raise more for incomings, which could mean Arsenal-target Jean-Michael Seri could be available this summer, reports the Metro.
Believed to have a £36m release clause, the Nice midfielder could yet be on his way to Arsenal after the latest revelations. “There should be three or four more arrivals, and two departures. We want to finish these as soon as possible, but certain cases take more time than others,” Rivère told L’Equipe.
“I think we will manage, because these last ones should be finalised faster than those from last year.” Seri has been linked with AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Arsene Wenger’s side and could be signed to bolster their midfield options. The 26-year-old scored and created 16 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games and could fill a void in the Arsenal engine room.
Mohamed Elneny was close to a £10m move to Leicester City, but the player rejected the move. Jack Wilshere is believed to be up for sale for £20m this summer, while Santi Cazorla is recovering from a long-term injury. Arsenal need a creative midfielder ahead of the new season due to their lack of depth so they may yet make a bid for Seri.
