Former-Arsenal star Tony Adams has said that Arsenal should sell wantaway forward Alexis Sanchez as soon as possible as the side should cash in on the player in the Premier League’s January transfer window.
Rumours regarding Alexis Sanchez have been rife for months, with the forward attracting interest from many clubs across Europe.
The Chilean came very close to a reunion with former manager Pep Guardiola as Manchester City looked to test Arsenal’s resolve. However, no deal could be agreed, with the former-Barcelona man staying in London.
Despite the interest, Sanchez has been utilised by Wenger at multiple points throughout the campaign, with the Chilean being chosen to lead the line against Manchester City last weekend.
However, his performance left a lot to be desired, as he was fairly anonymous against Guardiola’s men, with the defence dealing with him easily.
This has led many fans to turn on the player, along with teammate Mesut Ozil, with both in the final year of their current contracts, while some have even claimed that Wenger should cash in on the players in January.
Indeed, former-Arsenal man Tony Adams has urged Wenger to cash in on Sanchez at the start of next year. He told Omnisport: “We used to have a philosophy at Arsenal: if you don’t want to be at the club then bye-bye, we shake your hand get people that do, whatever money.”.
“I’ve always loved those principles, so if he doesn’t want to be here then try and get the most you can for him and get him on and get someone that does want to play for the club”.
Arsenal’s next game sees them take on Tottenham in a must win London derby, and the fans will hoping to see Sanchez star despite his future remaining unknown.
