Would any of Arsenal’s strikers get into a top-six team? 0

I was pondering the other day whether any of Arsenal’s strikers would get into any of their top-six rivals teams. When I say strikers, for the sake of argument take Chilean Alexis Sanchez out of the mix, as he does not always get used as a central striker.

That leaves us with Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Lucas Perez. The only one out of that trio who has not been linked with a summer move is Welbeck.

Rivals have better strikers

Manchester United v Arsenal Premier League Preview 0

Manchester United host Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, as the visitors look to secure a victory that will take them to the top of the table.

The home side have not been in great form of late. However, the Red Devils did record a 3-1 win at Swansea prior to the international break. A stunning strike from Paul Pogba and brace from Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured the first win in five league games for the Red Devils.

Arsenal visiting United at a good time 1

On Saturday lunchtime Arsenal visit Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in a serious test of the Gunners title credentials.

As we all know Arsenal have a poor record at Old Trafford in the Premier League. The Gunners have failed to win at United’s home ground in the last decade in the top-flight, picking up just two points from their last nine visits to the Red Devils.

It seems Manchester United raise their game for the Gunners visits. No matter how badly the Red Devils seem to be performing in the league, they seem to beat Arsene Wenger’s side on home soil.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic turned down move to Arsenal 0

According to Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic he turned down the chance to sign for both Arsenal and Manchester City in the past. The Swedish striker has made a prolific start to life at Manchester United by scoring three times in three Premier League appearances since his free switch to Old Trafford this summer.

The Swedish striker had been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners in the last few seasons, so it hardly comes as a surprise that he has now stated that he turned down a move.

Arsene Wenger will never change 8

It seems that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has to justify his transfer decisions every summer. Surely he must think there is something wrong in his actions if he feels he needs to defend them?

The French boss has recently talked about how hard it is to strengthen his squad. Yet Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have not failed to strengthen their squads.

A lack of ambition

Arsenal is always considered as a team that could mount a Premier League title challenge, but in the end, a poor mentality or lack of cover in certain positions puts an end to that title challenge.

Could Arsenal regret missing out on certain signings? 0

In the past few transfer windows Arsenal have been linked with hundreds, maybe even thousands of different players, some realistic targets and some not so realistic targets.

However, some of the prominent players linked with moves to the Gunners in recent windows, like Grzegorz Krychowiak, Nolito and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have moved or are about to move clubs this summer.

Two reported-Arsenal targets will play in England next season

Arsenal have been linked with Spanish international forward Nolito off-and-on for the last few transfer windows, but the former-Celta Vigo striker has got his move to the Premier League with Manchester City.

Is Alvaro Morata the striking solution for Arsenal? 0

According to the Metro and reports from Spain, Arsenal are the favourites to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata this summer. The former-Real Madrid star is believed to be in-demand, with the likes of Chelsea and even former-club Real interested in re-signing him.

Not really a prolific striker

The strange thing is for a striker who is so in-demand Morata is not very prolific in front of goal and never has been really. A tally of eight goals in 34 appearances is definitely nothing to get excited about and certainly would not suggest he can do anything that the current Gunners strikers cannot.

Wouldn’t Zlatan Ibrahimovic be a considerable upgrade on Olivier Giroud? 0

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is leaving the Parc des Princes this summer after a successful four years in the capital. The Swedish international left as PSG’s all-time leading goalscorer and will now be a free agent ahead of the 2016/17 season.

He’s been linked with a number of Premier League sides, but Arsenal fans have been vocal in their hope that the Gunners steer clear. Ibrahimovic is cited as a troublesome player who puts himself before the side, and could be a toxic atmosphere in the camp. However, he’s a striker still at the top of his game at 34 who would surely compete with Olivier Giroud for a starting place.

PSG’s Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic is once again being linked with a summer move to the Premier League. This time it is the Daily Star who claims that the striker could be set for a move to north London.

Ibrahimovic is set to become a free agent when his contract in the French capital expires this summer, as there has been no indication that he will sign a contract extension.

In fine form this season

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has always been prolific in front of goal, but this season he has been on absolute fire. The veteran striker has scored 42 goals in 44 games in all competitions for PSG, with five of those coming in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger offered a chance to rectify the Zlatan Ibrahimovic mistake 0

If reports from Mirror are to be believed, the 34-year-old Paris Saint-Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been offered to Arsenal.

The Swedish powerhouse is nearing the end of his contract with the French champions and has already made it quite clear he will not be prolonging his stay in Paris, with the Premier League believed to be his preferred destination.

Zlatan is analysing his options and moving to London is thought to be top of his wish list for now.

His agents believe that Gunners could be interested in the 34-year-old world-class striker and have reportedly contacted the Arsenal representatives to discuss the possibility of a summer transfer to the Emirates stadium.
