Arsenal are through to the FA Cup final after a 2-1 extra-time victory over Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Olivier Giroud’s header from inside the area was straight at Claudio Bravo. City went up the other end and Petr Cech was forced into tipping a David Silva header wide of goal.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is set to leave the club this summer with arrival of former-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola the trigger. According to various newspaper reports Arsenal could target the midfielder in the summer.

Former-England international Stuart Pearce even suggested that Toure would be a good signing for the Gunners. It would seem a strange move by the Gunners though, as he would be a very un-Wenger like signing.

The veteran French boss likes to pick-up players on the cheap and attempt to mould them into decent first team players. The tactic has not always worked, but he keeps trying.

Various reports are suggesting Arsenal are sounding out about the availability of Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, who looks destined to exit the Etihad Stadium in the summer. But given his advancing age, large wages and lack of work rate on the pitch, is Arsene Wenger really considering signing him?

Toure hasn’t been at his best for City this season, despite scoring and creating a respectable 11 goals in 26 Premier League appearances, and he’s been criticised for a series of questionable performances throughout the campaign that have led to City falling considerably short in the title-race. The impending appointment of Pep Guardiola is expected to see Toure deemed surplus too.
