According to the Daily Express, Italian giants Inter are set to seal a deal for Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi before the summer transfer window closes next Thursday. The deal is reportedly a loan deal, with the option of Inter purchasing the German defender next summer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has refused to deny that the centre-back could leave the club before Thursday deadline, which has added fuel to the fire of the story.
Mustafi has only spent one season with Arsenal. When Arsenal brought in the former-Valencia star last summer, most Gunners celebrated the centre-back’s arrival. The north London team had needed a strong centre-back for a while and Mustafi seemed to be the answer. .......Read more here.....

According to ESPN journalist James Dodd, representatives of Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk have met with Arsenal hierarchy about the Dutchman moving to north London.
Arsenal fan Dodd tweeted: “#AFC have met with Van Dijk & his reps but I’m fairly sure all the big PL clubs have. I guess Saints would rather sell to us than Liverpool.”
Van Dijk is one of the most in-demand stars in the Premier League, having been linked with moves to Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea. Southampton wantaway star Virgil van Dijk looks set to leave his club during the summer transfer window.
The Dutch defender was expected to join Liverpool earlier this summer but his desired move to Anfield collapsed after the Reds were accused of foul play in the transfer market. Liverpool were forced to issue a public apology to Southampton and seemingly give up on the Dutch defender, which just might not be entirely true.
Liverpool are not out of contention for the highly-rated centre-back and are expected to come back with an offer for van Dijk, which would this time be officially made as it should have been in the first place. .......Read more here.....

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are targeting Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar, Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United’s Chris Smalling as defensive signings in January. All three have reportedly previously been targets for the Gunners and now seem to be back on their radar.
As we all know the Gunners are short of central defensive cover and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that he will look at strengthening his backline in January. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could be set to make a move for Marseille’s young centre-back Stephane Sparanga.
The 19-year-old’s contract with the French side expires in December, so the Gunners could snap him up for a bargain fee. Sparanga can also play as a defensive midfielder, which means he would provide Arsenal with cover for two vulnerable positions.
With the versatile France under-20 international potentially available for a bargain fee there are a number of clubs believed to be showing an interest in signing him, including French side Rennes and Italian Serie A side Udinese. .......Read more here.....

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could dip into the transfer market in January to sign more defensive cover. Laurent Koscielny’s recent injury worries have made the Gunners defensive resources look slightly flimsy. The Mail claims that Celtic’s Dutch star Virgil van Dijk could be a January transfer target.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was scouring the market for a new centre-back on deadline day and the veteran French boss was linked with moves for the likes of Ron Vlaar and Matija Nastastic. According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are tracking Celtic’s Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk. The 22-year-old centre-back has impressed for the Hoops this season since joining the Scottish champions from Dutch Eredivisie team Groningen in the summer.
The highly-rated youngster is happy at Celtic Park, but he has not ruled out a move away from the Scottish capital. He told Dutch football magazine Voetbal International: “It’s fantastic that such top teams are being linked to you.
