Galatasaray interested in Elneny 0

According to the Metro, Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are keen to sign Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny this summer. The two clubs are believed to have agreed a £10m fee for the 25-year-old and this news comes just a day after Elneny rejected a move to Leicester City for a similar asking price.

Elneny, signed from FC Basel in January 2016 for around £5m, made just 14 Premier League appearances for the Gunners last season and spent much of the campaign on the periphery. His debut season at the Emirates Stadium was successful, twice being voted Arsenal’s Player of the Month, but he’s since failed to uproot Granix Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey from midfield.

Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce are reportedly close to completing the signing of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina this summer, but the two clubs are said to be arguing over making the deal a permanent or temporary transfer. According to ESPN, Ospina will move to Turkey for €3.5m on a four-year deal, but Fanatik suggests the deal is yet to be completed.

The Colombian international handed in a transfer request this summer, citing a lack of playing team as a reason for his decision. Ospina has made just 24 Premier League appearances since his 2014-move from OGC Nice, but he’s featured in the FA Cup and Champions League – notably playing in Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Chelsea.

Arsenal not in the race to sign Fenerbahce’s Robin van Persie 0

Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie is reportedly keen to leave the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium this summer with the likes of Stoke City and Middlesbrough the frontrunners for his signature. Van Persie is 33/1 to join Arsenal ahead of the new season, but it appears the Gunners aren’t looking to renew acquaintances with their former star.

The Dutch international spent eight years at Arsenal between 2004-2012, scoring 132 goals in 277 games. However, his time with the Gunners was rife with injury and saw the 32-year-old playing in just 63% of Arsenal’s Premier League games. Despite his fitness woes, manager Arsene Wenger stuck by the striker and turned him into one of Europe’s finest centre-forward.

Besiktas renewing their interest in David Ospina 0

According to ESPN, Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas are interested in Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, but may be put off by his apparent lofty asking price. The Gunners signed the Colombian shot-stopper for £3M from OGC Nice in 2014, but he’s struggled to hold down a starting place despite satisfactory performances for the Londoners.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman recently spoke out on the rumours and admitted there has been interest from their end. However, he also revealed Besiktas were being price out of a move for Ospina, saying: “I do want Ospina and we are going to get a foreign keeper. (But) Arsenal want a lot for him so we may have to look for alternatives.”

Debuchy linked with Besiktas switch this summer 0

According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy could be on his way to Besiktas this summer. The French international was frozen out of the Arsenal first-team last season, struggling with fitness and form since his switch from Newcastle United, and spent the second-half of the campaign on loan with French club Girondins de Bordeaux.

Debuchy made just two Premier League appearances for Arsenal in 2015/16, and he’s expected out of the Emirates this summer as a result. The rise of Hector Bellerin in the right-back slot has meant Debuchy’s been on the periphery for some time, and his search for regular appearances could force him to leave.

Should Arsenal bring unhappy Robin van Persie back to the Emirates? 0

Robin van Persie looks far from happy at new club Fenerbahce this season, with the experienced striker being used sparingly in games, while reports allege of a bust-up between the Dutchman and manager Vitor Pereira. The 32-year-old ended an 11-year stay in England to join up with the Turkish Super Lig title-chasers, but has made more appearances off the bench than he has starts in the division.

Besiktas in bid for Arsenal’s out-of-favour Joel Campbell this summer 0

Posted on July 08, 2015 by Crippy Cooke

Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is reportedly a target for Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas this summer, with the Costa Rican international looking for regular first-team football after being on the periphery for so many years with the Gunners. A £3.5M fee has been agreed by the two parties, and Campbell now has to agree personal terms.

Manager Arsene Wenger is alleged to have given his blessing for the youngster to leave, as he doesn’t have Campbell in his plans for next season due to stiff competition from the likes of Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott. He spent the 23-year-old out on loan to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal last season, but he failed to impress in his 20 appearances, scoring just once.
