It’s always tough to admit when you’re in the wrong, and it’s even tougher to admit when you’ve missed an opportunity. As we’ve seen over the last few years, Arsene Wenger isn’t shy when it comes to talking about some of his mistakes from years gone by – and while we appreciate that in regards to Arsenal’s exploits on the pitch, it isn’t really all too helpful when it comes to players that he wishes he would’ve signed.
While there’s still plenty of work to be done in order for Arsenal to make this a successful season, many fans are already turning their attention towards the summer transfer window. It’s likely going to be Arsene Wenger’s final full summer period in charge of the club, and as such, it’s going to be one to remember one way or another.
The Gunners need to improve in many departments and that’s not exactly as a secret, as the club have suffered from their lack of depth in a year which has been plagued by poor results and performances. Certain players don’t seem to be working out as first team regulars, meanwhile, others just don’t have the passion necessary to help a club like Arsenal thrive at the top of the Premier League table.
With less than a week before the transfer window closes Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he may make a late move in the transfer market to strengthen his squad, after making just one signing this summer in the shape of ‘keeper Petr Cech.
Asked at his press conference on Thursday if he was confident of making more signings, the veteran French boss said: “At the moment, I cannot say I am very confident because we are not close to signing anybody.
“I don’t know because I am always confident that a last-minute situation or solution is available, because the transfer market is especially moving in the last four or five days.
