Posted on March 18, 2018 by Veselin Trajkovic

The Express have quoted a report from Spanish newspapers AS that Arsenal are interested in bringing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak to the Emirates this summer.

Petr Cech has often been criticized this season for some mistakes unusual for a ‘keeper of such class and experience, and the report suggests the Gunners are looking to solve the problem by bringing in the £88 million-rated Slovenian international.

Despite the criticism, Cech recently kept his 200th Premier League clean sheet – the first goalkeeper in the Premier League to do so, while David Ospina has put in a decent performance every time he was given a chance.

Following only 13 first-team appearances Guedes was sent on loan to Valencia for the 2017/18 season as he was unable to fight for his place in the starting XI against the likes of world-record signings Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Despite the contrasting claims suggesting Inter Milan have turned down the opportunity to sign Mesut Ozil in a part exchange deal for Joao Mario, Serie A giants still have the Arsenal star and World Cup winner on their radar.

The 28-year-old Gunners star is heading toward the end of his contract with the north London club and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Arsenal have already offered their key man a new deal worth around £275,000 per week, but Ozil is said to be holding out for £350,000.

If reports coming from Germany are anything to go by, Mesut Ozil will pack his bags and leave Arsenal on a free transfer next summer.

Arsenal Summer Transfer Round-up 1

Posted on August 04, 2013 by Crippy Cooke

Arsenal seem to be making more moves in the transfer market in selling players than bringing them in this summer.

From the senior team, goalkeeper Vito Mannone joined Sunderland for £2M, left-back Andre Santos was released and joined Flamengo, midfielder Denilson was released to Sao Paulo on a free transfer, Sebastien Squillaci was also released to Bastia on a free transfer, and Andrey Arshavin joined Zenit Saint Petersburg on a free.

While not making a significant amount in transfer funds, the club have cut the wage bill by a great amount. In total, Arsenal have sold 20 players from the first-team and development side combined this summer.

Afellay’s agent Rob Jansen has admitted the fact that the Dutch starlet has offers coming in from the English Premier League, where Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with a move for him all summer long.

Wenger – Some Players Might Still Come, Or Not… 0

Posted on August 24, 2012 by admin

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has declared that the club is still looking to add talent to the squad and make a few transfers, but despite having lost RVP and Song, the Frenchman isn’t too certain of his statement.

According to Wenger, some players might still join, but his main focus is to get back Wilshere and Rosicky (and when Wenger says that, it’s not usually a good sign of new transfers), so it’s tough to say whether Arsenal will manage to bring in fresh legs or not.

“Some things can still happen,” he said.

Posted on August 24, 2012 by admin

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger seems to have dropped the idea of bringing in Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin, as Liverpool manager Rodgers admits the two clubs are close to a deal.

After being thought that Arsenal has all but transferred Sahin, Rodgers has confirmed yesterday the fact that the Turkish defensive midfielder could be in Liverpool in less than 24 hours.

“Hopefully in the next 24 hours we will get some confirmation on that,”

“It’s quite far along. He’s a very good footballer.”
