The 26-year-old joined the Gunners from Lyon in a club-record deal that cost the north London club £52million. The striker has made a bright start to life in England, scoring seven times in 12 appearances.

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has decided to bench the forward in games at both Liverpool and Manchester City. Lacazette came off the bench to score against City and surely has to start in the derby.

Arsenal have come in for some strong criticism in recent years. Criticisms of the Gunners include that they are too soft and need more bottle.

However, for all the criticism aimed at Arsenal, one positive still remains for the Gunners, that is their home form in the Premier League. That is highly encouraging for Arsenal fans, especially with the north London derby against Tottenham this weekend.

Very strong at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have won their last ten home games in the English top-flight, while also finding the net at least twice in their last eight games on home soil. That is an impressive home record for any team. Even Premier League leaders Manchester City cannot match that record.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio aguero and Gabriel Jesus were enough to see City to the win, and they actually spared Arsenal’s blushes on the day with some uncharacteristically wayward finishing.

In-favour at the start of the campaign

Danny Welbeck has not always been a regular starter in Arsenal’s first-team since arriving from Manchester United back in 2014. He has been in and out of the Gunners starting line-up.

Arsenal are close to sealing the £30million signing of Monaco’s French international winger Thomas Lemar, according to the Daily Mail.

The report on the Mail’s website suggests that talks between the two clubs are going smoothly and that the youngster could be close to joining the Gunners.

An exciting addition

Lemar is no doubt an exciting young talent, just like a number of his current Monaco teammates. Last season was a breakthrough one for the 21-year-old, as he scored 14 times and produced 17 assists in all competitions from his left-wing position.
