According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen on joining Real Madrid if the Gunners do not offer him a new deal in the summer. The veteran French boss’ contract expires in the summer and there are still doubts over whether he will stay at the club.

The Telegraph claim that Arsenal have offered Wenger a new two-year deal worth £10million per-year.

Linked with Real Madrid move

Wenger has been linked with the Real Madrid job in the past and has even reportedly turned down the big job in Madrid down in the past. The Telegraph now claims the Spanish capital is now Wenger’s preferred destination.

Arsenal interested in Antoine Griezmann 0

According to Sqwawka via the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal were interested in signing Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann earlier this summer. There were even claims that Arsenal were willing to pay £60million for the striker.

Jesus whose football fantasy is this?

Arsenal were interested in Griezmann were they? Were they also interested in raiding Barcelona for Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez or Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo as well?

This story sounds like the stuff of fantasy or fantasy football. Of course, Arsenal were interested in the striker, but they were never going to realistically make a move for the striker. The Gunners need a top striker this summer, but top strikers cost top money.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that Arsenal will go head-to-head with north London rivals Tottenham this month for the signing of PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi this month.

Lavezzi’s contract in the French capital expires in the summer and he will be available on a free transfer.  However, with both teams seemingly looking to strengthen their attacking options in January it seems possible the Argentinian international could move on for a bargain price in the winter transfer window.

According to reports from the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal are looking to bring Turkish midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup back to north London from Besiktas.

Turkish publication Fanatik are claiming that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believes he has made a mistake in selling Ozyakup in 2012. The Dutch-born 23-year-old spent four years at Arsenal before being sold to the Turkish side.

He has impressed in the Turkish top-flight and been linked with a move to a number of clubs, but the Gunners are regarded as favourites to sign him. The side from north London are seemingly in need of making additions to their central midfield options.

Alexis Sanchez’s pre-season has been delayed by the fact that he had to wait for a new visa, according to the Daily Telegraph. The Chilean international was stuck in Paris on Monday, (not a bad place to be stuck really) waiting for his new visa to be processed.

The Chilean has been allowed an extended break after he helped his national side win the Copa America on home soil. The 26-year-old scored the winning penalty in the final of the competition against Argentina.

According to the Daily Telegraph and Tuttosport, Arsenal are set to launch a bid of around £8.5million for Juventus and Spain forward Fernando Llorente.

The Spanish international moved to the Bianconeri in 2013 after impressing for La Liga side Athletic Bilbao. However, the 30-year-old has struggled to find his best form in Turin and scored just seven goals in 31 Serie A appearances.

Llorente was competing with Argentinian Carlos Tevez and compatriot Alvaro Morata last season for a place in the team. The Italian champions have strengthened their attack with the signing of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic, after losing Tevez to Boca Juniors earlier in the summer.

Are Gunners strong enough to win the EPL title? 3

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted that he may not strengthen his squad any further this summer, after the usual flurry of rumours involving the Gunners making high-profile signings.

Wenger told the Daily Telegraph: “I don’t close the door if we find any player who can strengthen the squad,”

“We have already strengthened the squad, but I believe part of the success of the squad is also the level of cohesion. We have a good level of cohesion. I believe we have the quality, and it’s now about how much we can be stronger together”.

Gunners Lacazette hopes boosted 0

According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal’s hopes of signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette have been boosted by his club boss Hubert Fournier admitting that the striker could be set to leave the French club this summer.

Lacazette is hot property this summer, having scored 27 goals in Ligue One and helping OL qualify for the Champions League. The 24-year-old is highly-rated and is regarded as one of the brightest striking prospects in the European game.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing the striker this summer and Lacazette has recently revealed that if he did move on it would be to a club with Champions League football next season.

Would Alexandre Lacazette be a good signing for Arsenal? 0

According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal have been offered Lyon’s highly-rated striker Alexandre Lacazette for a fee in the region of £21million. The France international looks a steal at that price, as he is now regarded as one of best out-and-out number nines in European football.

Lacazette’s agent David Venditelli has held talks with his French Ligue One club over a new deal for the striker, but it seems that Lyon cannot compete with the financial packages available at clubs in the bigger European leagues, although the striker still has three-years to run on his current contract with Lyon.

Cech to be offered record contract at Arsenal 0

According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal could make Petr Cech the highest paid goalkeeper in the history of the club by offering the Czech a £100,000 per-week contract.

The ‘keeper is expected to leave Chelsea this summer in search of first team football and the Gunners have emerged as favourites to sign him at odds of 1/3, despite interest from PSG and Manchester United.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reluctant to sell Cech to a title rival, but the Czech ‘keeper is reported to be in favour of a switch within the capital and it seems a £10million move is looking likely.
