According to the reports from the Daily Mail, Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil could sign a new deal in north London if he reallocated the number ten shirt. However, Jack Wilshere currently wears the shirt, while Ozil’s shirt number is 11.

However, Wilshere is out of contract in the summer and reportedly has caught Ozil’s attention. It seems a strange demand from a player that has exactly pulled up any trees in recent months for the Gunners.

The Daily Mail website was running a story about Sampdoria bidding £9million to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere this summer. However, the Italian club are worried they may not be able to meet the Gunners financial demands.

The midfielder has just 12 months left on his contract in north London. It would not be a major surprise if he leaves the club.

He spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and made 27 appearances before unsurprisingly his season was cut short through injury. In reality, he failed to really shine for the Cherries, although he did produce a few decent performances

The Gunners have been worried about the German playmaker leaving the club in the summer, as his current contract of £140,000 per-week is set to expire in just over a year’s time.

However, it is being reported that Arsenal are now concerned about increasing his wages, as his performances have been poor of late.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Dortmund forward Marco Reus. The German is reportedly the Gunners number target if the side from north London lose Alexis Sanchez in the near future.

Sanchez is out-of-contract in the summer of 2018 and negotiations over a new contract for the Chilean seem to have stalled. The former Barcelona star is regarded as one of Arsenal’s key players, but the Gunners may be tempted to cash-in on the star in the summer if they cannot come to an agreement with Sanchez.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is not willing to budge on his demands of £250,000 per week for a new contract. It has been well publicised that the two parties have been in talks over a new deal.

Sanchez’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2018, just like playmaker Mesut Ozil’s, so the club from north London are understandably keen to tie the pair to new deals.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have opened negotiations with Spanish club Atletico Madrid over the transfer of £40million-rated Uruguayan centre-back Jose Gimenez.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in the European game and has a release clause of £56million in his contract with the Madrid club. The likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Gimenez.

As we all know Arsenal are in need of defensive additions with Gabriel and Per Mertesacker currently sidelined. No Arsenal needs defensive reinforcements.

Is it time for the Gunners to give up on Jack Wilshere? 0

Posted on August 03, 2016 by David Nugent

Arsenal and England central midfielder Jack Wilshere has been regarded as a potential world-beater for a long time. The 24-year-old’s career has been ruined by injury problems and the midfielder has sustained a knee injury.

The latest setback is believed to not to be a serious one, but has put question marks over his involvement in the clubs Scandinavian tour, according to the Daily Mail.

Missed most of last season

Wilshere missed all but three of Arsenal’s Premier League games last season through injury. It has become a familiar story of recovery and reoccurrence of injuries for the player once dubbed ‘the future of England’s midfield’ by some.

Should Arsenal sell Theo Walcott this summer? 0

Posted on May 10, 2016 by David Nugent

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham are preparing a big money move for Arsenal’s England international Theo Walcott this summer.

The forward has struggled for first team this season with the Gunners having suffered injury problems earlier in the season. Walcott has started just one Premier League game since the end of January and his future in north London seems in doubt. He has been used as an impact player at times this season.

The Gunners selling the forward now does not seem completely unrealistic and if West Ham are willing to pay big money for the forward then they will have to consider any decent offer.
