Arsenal get bad news from transfer target keeper 0

Posted on May 23, 2013 by admin

Arsenal have yet again found a new goalkeeper that they want to add to the squad this summer. Borussia Monchengladbach keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has rejected interest from Arsenal in the hope of forcing through a dream move to Barcelona this summer because of the situation with Victor Valdes.

This will be another blow to Arsenal who have been searching Europe relentlessly it seems for the last couple of weeks. The club have already made an official bid for Portuguese keeper Rui Patricio and are hot on the heels of QPR’s Julio Cesar and Barcelona’s Victor Valdes who is causing a strange situation between Arsenal and Barcelona as they both try to secure his signature while looking for potential replacements.

Szczesny apologises to Arsenal for Father’s comments 1

The Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny was probably glad of the international break to give him a chance to get away from the glare of the English media. The Polish international was dropped by Arsene Wenger for the games against Bayern Munich and Swansea City to give him time to get his `mental state` in the right order. Szczesny must have been wishing for a peaceful couple of weeks, but it was not to be after his father criticised Wenger and Arsenal about their handling of his son.

Wenger was lucky that Mannone didn’t leave this summer 1

Seems things are finally starting to come together for Arsene Wenger and in more ways than one. The Arsenal manager says reserve goalkeeper, Vito Mannone was free to leave the club in the off-season and he was expecting the Italian to do just that before the season started. Luckily for Wenger, Mannone stayed and Arsenal are the better for it.

Szczesny – We’ll miss Pat Rice but Steve Bould will do a good job 3

Pat Rice played nearly 400 games at right back for the Arsenal first team, after joining the club as an apprentice in 1964. He spent 12 years in charge of the youth team until, after three games as caretaker manager in 1996, he was appointed as assistant to Arsene Wenger. He actually has a 100 percent Premier league record as he won all three games. The long serving Rice went out on a high as Arsenal beat West Brom on Sunday amidst great scenes.

Crisis At Arsenal As Szczesny Seems Out Of WBA Game 18

Arsenal could be in huge problems ahead of the final game of the season against WBA, as Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is struggling with a knee injury and is still in doubt for the weekend game.

The Pole was one of the most impressive players of the season for Arsenal, whereas simply putting it, Fabianski was NOT! He had a bad performance for the Gunners in the few chances he got, and seemed to be very eager for the season to get over and leave for a club where he could actually have some decent playing time.

Vorm and Martinez to be backups to Szczesny next season? 10

Arsenal look to Swansea stopper as alternative to Szczesney

Arsene Wenger has been running his eye over Swansea goalkeeper Michael Vorm as he feels that current keeper Wojciech Szczesney needs some decent competition for the Arsenal number one jersey. Polish international Szczesney has suffered a loss of form towards the end of the seasom after impressing initially but he has no serious competition on the Arsenal bench.

Scouts from the Emirates have been impressed with the performances of Michael Vorm, currently with Swansea City and have informed Wenger that he could be the ideal man to push Arsenal’s 22-year old keeper. Manuel Almunia is almost certain to leave this summer and Lukasz Fabianski is likely to go out on loan in order to gain experience and fitness.

Arsenal linked with yet another top goalkeeper 1

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger just found another possible candidate for the goalkeeper job which will open up at the club once Manuel Almunia and the Polish goalie Lukasz Fabianski will leave the club as expected.

The Pole wants to leave the club because he hasn’t been able to make the team lately, and now Wenger might have a go at Marseille’s goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, who just expressed his wish to join the Premier league “one day”

“Which league attracts me most? The Premier League,” he told French radio.

“One day I would like to discover another championship, so why not the English league?”

Real Madrid want Wojciech Szczesny to replace Iker Casillas 1

Posted on March 09, 2012 by admin

The brilliant Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas is now 30 years-old and it is being reported by the Spanish sports paper AS that Jose Mourinho’s club are now searching around for the perfect heir to his throne when he calls it a day.

They report that the number One target on their list of possible replacements is Arsenal’s young Pole Wojciech Szczesny who has had some fantastic performances this season (and it must be said; a few ordinary ones as well), and at his age can only improve as the years go by.

Szczesny – Van Persie’s contract is not our business! 1

Posted on February 28, 2012 by admin

Arsenal’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny seems to think that skipper Robin Van Persie is an all important man to the Gunners and that scoring only one goal the way he did against the Spurs was a clear sign of having an off day for a player of his tally.

“He’s not bad is he? He only scored one goal today though, which is really disappointing for him!

“We are used to him scoring a hat-trick. But he set up a couple and he was great.

Szczesny – I bet the Arsenal fans enjoyed beating Spurs as much as I did! 0

Posted on February 28, 2012 by admin

The young Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny was flying high after the majestic destruction of Tottenham on Sunday, and he just couldn’t hide his exuberant joy at beating Tottenham for the first time in his short career.

“It is a great feeling, probably one of the best I have ever had,” Szczesny enthused. “It is brilliant, I was buzzing. Every single goal felt better than the previous one. I was celebrating quite energetically … but I loved it. For me as an Arsenal fan to beat Tottenham – it is the first time I have beaten them as well – it is just great.”
