Arsenal see-off Manchester City in extra-time 0

Arsenal are through to the FA Cup final after a 2-1 extra-time victory over Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

City offered the first threat on goal on three minutes, as Kevin de Bruyne dragged an effort wide of goal from distance. There was then a period of the two teams feeling each other out and the Gunners had their first attempt of the game just prior to the quarter of an hour mark.

Olivier Giroud’s header from inside the area was straight at Claudio Bravo. City went up the other end and Petr Cech was forced into tipping a David Silva header wide of goal.

Arsenal drew 2-2 with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the result not really helping the Gunners chances of Champions League qualification.

City had the first real attack of the game on three minutes. Fernandinho played Sterling in on goal, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina was out quickly, only for the Colombian’s attempted clearance hit Raheem Sterling and went wide of goal.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck came close to opening the scoring soon afterwards, turning Nicolas Otamendi before firing into the side-netting.

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal are set to make a sensational summer move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

The forward has is out-of-favour with City boss Pep Guardiola and the Catalan boss has benched the Argentinian striker for the last two games. Brazilian starlet Gabriel Jesus has started in Aguero’s place and has made a big impression.

Aguero is now rumoured to be unhappy with the Citizens and ready to move on in the summer. However, Arsenal are unlikely to be the only interested club in acquiring Aguero’s services, with the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid also being linked with a move for the striker.

Arsenal will look to bounce back from defeat last time out, as the Gunners visit top-four rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

City have been in relatively poor form of late, having recorded just one victory in their last four games in all competitions. However, that one win came in midweek in a 2-0 win over Watford, courtesy of strikes from Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva.

The win means that the Citizens are currently fourth in the Premier League table, a point behind the Gunners. Pep Guardiola’s side do not have a great recent home record in the top-flight, but they have suffered just one defeat in their last 11 games at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at Everton on Tuesday night was a surprise considering the Gunners recent good form and the Toffees poor form of late. However, despite having a good record at Goodison Park the Gunners came unstuck against the side from Merseyside.

There were contentious decisions by the officials in the game, but that cannot paper over the cracks of the lacklustre performance.

Arsenal headed for Goodison in high spirits, looking to move to the top of the Premier League table temporarily at least. For the first 25 minutes, they knocked the ball around well with Alexis Sanchez giving the visitors the lead.

The Gunners are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation around Manchester City star striker Sergio Aguero, ready to make a bid for the unsettled Argentinean should such an opportunity present itself.

Aguero’s future at the Etihad has become the hot subject of intense speculation over the last couple of days and after Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola decided to leave him out of the Champions League clash at Barcelona.

The 28-year-old striker was once again left on the bench with Iheanacho starting the EFL Cup derby against Manchester United which has only fueled the speculations.

Arsenal looks to have sealed a top-three place in the Premier League after drawing 2-2 at fourth-place Manchester City.

City took the lead on eight minutes with the first effort on goal of any note. Fernandinho headed the ball down to Sergio Aguero who touched the ball and fired a left-footed effort into the near post.

Just two minutes later and the Gunners equalised, as Olivier Giroud headed home from a corner kick after Gael Clichy had nearly headed past his own ‘keeper.

Arsenal claimed a vital 2-1 victory over title rivals Manchester City on Monday night, with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud grabbing the goals.

The first attempt on goal arrived on nine minutes. Manchester City playmaker David Silva fired well wide of goal. City midfielder Fernandinho missed the target just a minute later.

Theo Walcott toe-poked into the side-netting on 19 minutes, after Mesut Ozil’s cross took the deflection off a City defender and into the path of the winger. The Citizens threatened again on 22 minutes, as Kevin De Bruyne’s low effort on goal was parried wide of goal by Petr Cech.

Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night in a top of the Premier League table clash. It’s second versus third with both teams looking to keep pace with surprise leaders Leicester.

The Gunners currently sit second in the Premier League table, five points behind Leicester. Arsene Wenger’s side have claimed consecutive top-flight and last time out won 2-0 at beleaguered bottom club Aston Villa.

Despite those consecutive wins the Gunners have been inconsistent this season. However their recent record against Manchester City has improved in recent times, as Wenger’s side are now three games unbeaten against the Citizens.

Vincent Kompany continues to miss out, but Sergio Aguero should be fit to start. The sentence pretty much sums up Manchester City team news ahead of the all-important Premier League clash with Arsenal.

With holders Chelsea struggling, the Citizens were widely expected to stake their claim for the Premiership title, but they have failed to live up to the billing and currently sit one point behind their next opponents.

Manchester City will have a chance to leapfrog their main title rivals as the two sides square off at the Emirates on Monday night, with the visitors hoping to take advantage of Arsenal’s injury crisis.
