When Arsenal started their Premier League campaign, the Gunners looked well covered in numbers anyway in the centre of defence.
However, an injury sustained by German international Shkodran Mustafi, along with French defender Laurent Koscielny being absent through injury have limited Arsene Wenger’s centre-back options for the near future.
The Gunners face a trip to Watford on Saturday evening, in a game the side from north London are odds of 8/13 to win.
The likely absence of the aforementioned pair means that Wenger will have to call on some of his other defenders to fill the void. .......Read more here.....

On Sunday afternoon, Chelsea and Arsenal played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge. The biggest talking about the game turned out to be a late red card for Chelsea defender David Luiz.
Chelsea made a bright start to the game, with former Blues goalkeeper Petr Cech having to produce good saves from Victor Moses and then Pedro. The home side threatened again, as Cesc Fabregas played a one-two with Willian before the Spaniard fire an effort towards goal only for a combination of Danny Welbeck and Cech at the near post to snub out the danger. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal are preparing to face London rivals and English champions at Stamford Bridge on Sunday lunchtime. No doubt, it is a very difficult game and one that could prove crucial to the Gunners season.
On paper, Arsenal look unlikely to win at Stamford Bridge and you would have to be a brave man to back the Gunners to emerge from south west London with a win. However, the performance of a weakened team in the second half of Thursday 3-1 win over Koln should give the visitors some encouragement.

Arsenal kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Koln on Thursday night. The kick-off was delayed by an hour due to crowd safety issues, but that mattered very little in the end to the Gunners, as they put in a strong second half display to see off the visitors.
The visitors scored with virtually the first attempt on goal on ten minutes. David Ospina rushed out of his goal to clear a long ball over the top, only for Bittencourt to find Cordoba, who lofted the ball back over the Colombian from around 40 yards out and into the net. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Danny Welbeck grabbing a brace and Alexandre Lacazette also getting on the scoresheet.
The Gunners took the lead on six minutes with the first real attempt on goal of the game. Sead Kolasinac crossed and found Danny Welbeck, whose effort off the shoulder wrong-footed Asmir Begovic in the Bournemouth goal.
The home side had the next attempt on goal on 13 minutes. Kolasinac strode forward again but lost the ball. The ball then broke for Granit Xhaka 30 yards out and the Swiss star saw a first-time effort parried by Begovic. .......Read more here.....

In a month where everything seemed to go wrong for Arsenal, summer signing Sead Kolasinac won the Gunners Player of the Month.
In truth, there were slim pickings among the Gunners players for the award. However, the former Schalke player managed to win the award, despite only playing in two of the team’s three league games this season.
The fans vote was maybe a vote of no confidence in the players that appeared in the 4-0 hammering at Liverpool, than a vote of confidence for the Bosnia and Herzegovina star.

For me, Arsenal losing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on deadline day to Liverpool was not a disaster. I just want to know why it took the two clubs until so late in the transfer window to agree a deal.
The midfielder never looked like signing a new deal in north London. If Arsenal would have sold him earlier in the summer, they could have brought a replacement in. However, this is Arsenal and nothing seems to happen the way it should.
Take for example Arsene Wenger team selection in recent weeks. At times Hector Bellerin has been playing as a left wing-back, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been playing on the opposite flank. .......Read more here.....

Some Arsenal fans may well have criticised Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for his cautious nature over transfers in recent years, but the free signing of versatile Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Sead Kolasinac could be the bargain of the summer.
Kolasinac was the focus of attention for a number of other clubs prior to his free transfer to the Gunners from German club Schalke in the summer. In fact, the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Everton were all reportedly looking to sign the defender. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal won the Community Shield on Sunday against Chelsea courtesy of a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
The game started in a lively manner and it was Arsenal who saw the first real sight of goal. Winger Alex Iwobi ghosted past two Chelsea defenders, before seeing his centre across the fact the face of the goal hit Alexandre Lacazette and bounced clear.
A minute later and Chelsea ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois produced a comfortable save from a Danny Welbeck header. The Blues goalkeeper was in action soon afterwards denying Iwobi at close-range after the Nigerian had received a clever through-ball from Mohamed Elneny. .......Read more here.....

According to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, the Gunners are still ‘active’ in the transfer market attempting to strengthen their squad ahead of the start of the Premier League season in just under two weeks’ time.
The club from north London are reportedly still trying to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, despite the French club stating in the press that he is not for sale this summer.
Still active in the market
Talking about Arsenal’s transfer activity, Wenger told Arsenal Player: ‘What’s next is to remain active,’ .......Read more here.....
