Arsenal and Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a January transfer business that would involve a couple of players changing places in English and Spanish capitals.

Arsene Wenger is said to have stepped up his efforts to sign the Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez this winter, while Los Blanco on their own part are thinking about Alexis Sanchez.

Real Madrid forward Lucas Vasquez has only made five La Liga starts this term and is said to be growing frustrated with lack of playing time at Santiago Bernabeu. Arsene Wenger is reportedly a huge admirer of the 26-year-old’s speed and agility with Spanish media outlet Don Balon suggesting that Gunners boss is ‘willing to do anything’ to seal the deal for Vasquez.

North London club Arsenal have decided to step into the race for Real Madrid midfield talent Dani Ceballos, according to various reports.

The 21-year-old is enduring a frustrating time at Santiago Bernabeu and could be out of Madrid this January in search of regular playing time and Arsenal are one of the clubs currently linked with a move for him.

Ceballos joined Los Blancos this summer after a brilliant Under-21 European Championship campaign as part of Florentino Perez’s plan to add more homegrown players to Real Madrid squad.

Placing Arsenal in the middle of some wild transfer links is nothing usual and unheard of but the latest reports coming from the Spanish media that claim Gunners have approached Real Madrid over Gareth Bale are truly something else.

The Spanish media outlet Don Balon has been the first one to raise the subject of Arsenal reportedly joining the race for the explosive Welsh winger Gareth Bale.

Former Tottenham star has been linked with a move away from Spain for quite some time with a possible return to the Premier League on the cards.

Will Arsenal miss Mesut Ozil? 0

According to former Arsenal defender Martin Keown, Gunners German playmaker Mesut Ozil has already left the club in some ways.

Keown told Radio Five Live Via the Metro:  ‘I think he’s testing Wenger more than any other player has,’

‘I think it was Belarus the other week, he didn’t fancy going. He didn’t want to go. ‘Suddenly he was injured again, he played nine minutes against West Bromwich Albion on the Monday, so how did he get injured there?

‘I think in some departments he’s already left. Psychologically, mentally, he’s already left the football club. Maybe Wenger is now trying to do the best deal he can to get some compensation for him.’

According to the Mirror, Arsenal will fight off interest from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez this summer, with manager Arsene Wenger having the support of the board. City are believed to be lining up a £70m bid for the 28-year-old’s signature but the Gunners aren’t looking to sell for any price.

With Alexis having 12 months on his deal with Arsenal this summer, a number of clubs were keen on his signature – Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Manchester City, as well as Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, City are the last club standing, with manager Pep Guardiola keen to renew acquaintances with the Chilean international.

Arsenal and Liverpool keen on Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez 0

According to Diario Madridista, Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez.

The Gunners are seeking an alternative attacking option should they fail to sign Monaco’s Thomas Lemar or Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez this summer, while Liverpool are desperate for more depth ahead of their Champions League campaign to come.

Vazquez made 33 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid last season, scoring and creating nine goals. But he only made 12 starts in the top-flight and could be seeking a move to a club that can promise him more playing time. The 26-year-old racked up an impressive 47 appearances under Zinedine Zidane last season but couldn’t dethrone Isco or Gareth Bale in the side.

The Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic is unhappy with his status at Real Madrid and has reportedly informed coach Zinedine Zidane about his wish to leave Santiago Bernabeu during the summer transfer window.

Kovacic is facing stiff competition for places in Real Madrid first team with Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro all in front of him in the pecking order and former Inter Milan starlet appears to be keen for a change of scenery in search of regular minutes.

Mateo Kovacic made 73 appearances for Real Madrid since his January 2015 move, but his influence last season was limited to only 19 La Liga appearances.
