The uncertainty surrounding the future of Arsene Wenger continues to plague Arsenal’s season, with just as many fans focusing on his reign as manager in comparison to the end of their campaign. On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal travel to in-form Newcastle in the Premier League, as the home side seek one more victory to secure their top-flight status.

Newcastle have moved away from the relegation zone with a three-game winning run of late in the Premier League. The Magpies are now ten points clear of the drop zone and look to be safe from the drop.

A 2-1 win away at Leicester in their last Premier League outing displayed the Magpies recent confidence.

Rafa Benitez’s team have a strong recent record at St James Park in the league, as the Magpies are unbeaten in six home games, having won their three Premier League games on home soil.

According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Real Madrid is set to launch a bid to re-sign Arsenal’s in-form German playmaker Mesut Ozil.

The playmaker has been at his best this season for the Gunners and in the last ten Premier League appearances has produced 11 assists and 13 assists in all this season. He seems to have returned to the form that led to him being considered the European assist king not so long ago.

Should Arsenal give up on Karim Benzema? 0

Arsenal are once again being linked with a move for Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema by every tabloid, including the Guardian and the Metro among others.

This story seems to hang around like a bad smell. Sure Arsenal does seem interested in a striker and Benzema would be a good signing. However, neither his club, nor the player has stated that they are interested in a move.

In fact the player’s agent even stated that Benzema was 1,000 per cent staying in the Spanish capital. Now we know how untrustworthy agents are, but even Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez has stated that he wants the French striker to stay at the Bernabeu.

According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid are looking at Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny as a potential replacement for Spain international Sergio Ramos, who is being linked with a big money move to Premier League Manchester United.

Koscielny has been a key player for the Gunners over the past few seasons and only signed a contract extension last summer. The 29-year-old had formed an effective partnership at the heart of the Gunners defence with German international Per Mertesacker.

Brazilian Gabriel Paulista was brought in as cover for the pair in the January transfer window and is likely to provide competition in the new campaign.
