Posted on April 06, 2017 by Milos Markovic

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a mega-money offer for Arsenal key man Alexis Sanchez, according to reports from the French media outlet Le 10 Sport.

The Chilean is reportedly a €65 million target for Les Parisiens, who are hoping the lucrative amount will be enough to persuade Arsenal to sell their prized possession.

Alexis Sanchez has been linked with Arsenal exit for quite some time now, with various reports of the player’s frustration with lack of results and ambition at the Emirates. The Chilean’s reported fallout with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was another key factor in the 28-year-old wanting to leave at the end of the season.

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be keeping close tabs on Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero as futures of both players at respective clubs remain in balance.

Arsene Wenger will find it extremely difficult to hold on to his prized asset following the most recent slump in the Premier League which saw the Gunners suffer back-to-back defeats to Watford and Chelsea, respectively.

Having been effectively ruled out of the Premier League race, Arsenal have put their top 4 spot in danger and will be fearing for their European spots until the end of the season.

Arsenal welcome Paris Saint-Germain to the Emirates Stadium in Wednesday’s Champions League clash, in a game that could be close to call given the contrasting form of late. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was critical of Chile’s decision to play Alexis Sanchez when the forward was recovering from injury, only to give him a full 90 minutes in the Premier League on the weekend against Manchester United in Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

Sanchez struggled to make a telling impact and has now failed to score in five of his last six Premier League appearances. The 27-year-old has started in 11 of Arsenal’s 12 league outings this season, with only goalkeeper Petr Cech having spent more time on the pitch.

Will Petr Cech be happy with Champions League omission? 0

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina surprisingly started in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain but greatly impressed to help earn the Gunners a valuable point on the road. However, first-choice shot-stopper Petr Cech may well feel frustrated at the omission given Champions League football was partly the reason for him making the Arsenal switch in 2015.

The former Chelsea shot-stopper was surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge after Thibaut Courtois returned from a lengthy loan spell at Atletico Madrid, but Cech was keen to ensure he was still playing at the top level and challenging for major honours. Let alone the geographic positives of joining Arsenal, being able to play in the Champions League for a big club was a major pull.

Arsenal have been drawn with perennial French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, Swiss Super League title-winners FC Basel and Bulgarian Parva Liga champions Ludogorets Razgrad in Group A of the Champions League for this season. Arsenal will be expected to take six points off Ludogorets, while beating Basel on home soil and taking at least one point off PSG at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have consistently made it through the group stages of the competition for 16 seasons, but will be desperate to finally surpass the last-16 for the first time since 2010. Arsenal have a point to prove in Europe as a result, and owe the fans something to cheer about after last season’s disastrous group stage campaign.

If reports from Mirror are to be believed, the 34-year-old Paris Saint-Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been offered to Arsenal.

The Swedish powerhouse is nearing the end of his contract with the French champions and has already made it quite clear he will not be prolonging his stay in Paris, with the Premier League believed to be his preferred destination.

Zlatan is analysing his options and moving to London is thought to be top of his wish list for now.

His agents believe that Gunners could be interested in the 34-year-old world-class striker and have reportedly contacted the Arsenal representatives to discuss the possibility of a summer transfer to the Emirates stadium.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has been in fine form for the Gunners this season, and has been attracting interest from a host of European giants as a result. The 28-year-old has scored 13 goals in 14 Premier League starts, and was being linked with a potential move to two-time French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the campaign, but could the Champions League hopefuls renew their interest this summer?

Could PSG’s FFP sanction and competition for places see Arsenal approach some players? 0

Posted on June 12, 2014 by Crippy Cooke

French Ligue One champions Paris Saint-Germain were recently in trouble for their poor money management, earning a disciplinary from UEFA for breaking FFP rules. And it seems the club have a lot of competition for places that is sure to cause unrest in 2014/15, so could Arsenal do them favour this summer?

One player linked with the Gunners has been young midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The talented 19-year-old only made 12 league starts for PSG in 2013/14 nad faces a very difficult task to get game time when PSG’s midfield includes Yohan Cabaye, Thiago Motta, Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi.

Wenger’s Contract Talks to Begin This Summer 1

Long-serving Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reported to be undergoing contract talks with Arsenal – said to keep him at the club a further three years.

Wenger, 63, has been with the London side for 17 years, and is now the longest serving manager currently in the Premier League – following Sir Alex Ferguson retiring from Manchester United (27 years).

France Ligue One side Paris Saint-Germain had previously tried to persuade Wenger to join the side for next season, but they were turned down. While ex-France and Bordeaux manager Laurent Blanc is now the man in charge of PSG, he’s only on a 12-month contract. Many feel the Ligue One side will once again step up their interest in the 63-year old at the end of next season.
