The Arsenal hierarchy are concerned about meeting Mesut Ozil’s wage demands of £300,000 a week according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners have been worried about the German playmaker leaving the club in the summer, as his current contract of £140,000 per-week is set to expire in just over a year’s time.
However, it is being reported that Arsenal are now concerned about increasing his wages, as his performances have been poor of late.
Criticism of his displays of late
Ozil’s performances have been poor of late for the Gunners. He was virtually invisible in the north London derby defeat to Tottenham. For much of the campaign, he has struggled for any consistency. .......Read more here.....

On Sunday afternoon Tottenham host Arsenal at White Hart Lane in a north London derby that could have big implications at the top of the Premier League table.
The home side are second in the table and four points behind long-time league leaders Chelsea. However, the Blues face a tricky trip to Everton in an earlier kick-off on Sunday, so Spurs could capitalise on any slip-ups from Antonio Conte’s men.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team have been in fine form of late, having recorded eight consecutive Premier League victories. Spurs have a formidable home record in the Premier League, winning their last 12 games on home soil in the top-flight. .......Read more here.....

This weekend is, of course, the north London derby, as Arsenal visit north London rivals Tottenham in a massive Premier League clash.
As always there has been combined teams and talk of who would get into whose team. However, Sky Sports pundit and former Arsenal star Paul Merson reckons the only Arsenal player who would get into the Tottenham team is forward Alexis Sanchez.
In all honesty, it is hard to agree with Merse on this one. He can be an idiot at times, but I think he is pretty accurate in his assessment of this: Sanchez is probably the only Gunners player who would get in the Spurs team. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal host Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium in the north London derby on Saturday looking to build on last weekend’s 3-0 win at Aston Villa.
The Gunners are unbeaten in the Premier League this season, but three of those games have finished in draws. Arsene Wenger side are currently fourth in the table, four points off league leaders Chelsea.
As per usual Arsene Wenger fielded a weakened team in Tuesday’s third round Capital One Cup game against Southampton and the Gunners suffered a 2-1 home defeat. The veteran Frenchman fielded very few first team regulars in the defeat and rested his star performers ahead of the big derby clash. .......Read more here.....

With Arsenal crashing out of the Capital One Cup in the third round, supporters desperately need convincing that the club are still going forward. The biggest test of that will be this weekend when their fierce North London rivals Tottenham come to town.
The Gunners haven’t lost at home to Spurs since 2010, and in their last 10 league meetings, Arsenal have won five and drawn one. Last season, they did the double over Tottenham, and this campaign the two clubs are having contrasting fortunes in the league. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal travel to face fierce North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon, with Wenger’s men enduring a seven-year wait for a win in the league.
White Hart Lane hasn’t been a happy ground for the Gunners, as they’ve tasted defeat in two of their last three league meetings away to Spurs.
However, they are big favourites to end the wait for a win, as Tottenham are in awful form themselves of late, and their confidence is very low following back-to back defeats to Chelsea & Benfica. .......Read more here.....
