Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere has stated that coveted midfielder Jean Michael Seri will not be sold when the January transfer window opens. The 26-year-old was close to a move to Barcelona in the summer before the deal broke down at the last minute. The Catalans have since signed midfielder Paulinho and seem content with their options in the engine room this season.

Arsenal and Tottenham, however, remain interested according to reports. The Gunners have recently welcomed back Jack Wilshere who can provide creativity and ball retention in midfield, but his injury record means he’s unlikely to last the entire season fit. Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka has been the familiar partnership of late, but Seri would be an improvement on either player.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal have no clubs standing in their way for Jean-Michael Seri’s signature. The Gunners have been keen on the 26-year-old for most of the summer, but have seen the likes of Barcelona and AS Roma edge themselves ahead, with the latter making an official bid for the Nice midfielder. Latest reports say the duo are no longer in the running.

Seri made 34 Ligue 1 appearances last season, contributing 16 goals. He’s said to have a £36m release clause, a price Arsenal don’t appear keen to match, but the Londoners do have a need for a creative midfielder given Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere are currently out injured.

Arsenal are hot on the trail of Nice central midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to reports from the Guardian. The reports suggest that the Gunners are in negotiations over a £20million deal for the star.

However, any potential deal could be complicated by the fact that the likes of Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also believed to be interested in signing the midfield ace.

Seri has helped Nice to an unexpected challenge for the Ligue One title this season, as the Eaglets are currently six points behind French league leaders Monaco. The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international has scored six goals and produced nine assists in the French top-flight.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are interested in signing Nice’s Portuguese right-back Ricardo Pereira, who is rated in the £20million-bracket. The 23-year-old is on loan from Portuguese club Porto. Pereira is in his second year of his loan spell and has impressed for the French leaders.

Nice are currently top of Ligue One, ahead of the likes of Monaco and PSG. Pereira can play in either full-back position and also played as a winger earlier in his career. Another day, another name on Arsenal’s transfer list.

French media outlet Le 10 Sport have reported on Friday that North Londoners are keeping close tabs on the young French defender Malang Sarr, who is enjoying an impressive run of form for his club Nice.

Arsene Wenger has reportedly already sent his scouts to watch the youngster in action earlier in October, and was apparently highly pleased with the feedback he received.

Having broken into the French Ligue 1 side’s first team this season, the 17-year-old defender notched a number of quality performances, while he also scored a goal in his debut match against Rennes.

According to Le Sport, via the Metro, Arsenal could make a move for Nice’s talented young central midfielder Vincent Koziello. The 20-year-old star has impressed for Nice, who have enjoyed a stellar start to their Ligue One campaign and currently sit top of the French top-flight.

The Metro claims that Koziello is being lined up for a move to north London next summer with Santi Cazorla’s contract set to expire. It seems unlikely that Arsenal would attempt to replace such an influential player with such a young untried talent.

Reports have surfaced that Arsenal are set to hold talks with Besiktas over Colombian ‘keeper David Ospina or so Turkish news outlet Takvim claims anyway. Arsenal are believed to be looking for £3.5million for Ospina, but could sell the ‘keeper for less as he seeks first team football elsewhere.

He has been linked with a move to Turkish football before, but it seems he could now actually finally leave north London this summer.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal is close to completing a £3million deal to sign Colombia number one David Ospina. The 25-year-old was already a highly-rated keeper prior to the World Cup, but his performances in Brazil have raised his profile even further.

Ospina looked very solid as the South American’s reached the quarter-finals of the competition and were unlucky to exit the competition at the hands of the hosts Brazil.

Reliable

Ospina has forged a big reputation in Ligue One with Nice, where he has become known as a very reliable keeper. Ospina has helped Nice to become a stable team in the French top-flight. Ospina has spent five years at the French club developing his talent.
