England are into the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals, and isn’t that just a great thing to say out loud?

We may have made hard work of it as we always seem to do, but in the end, we were able to come away with a result that half of us were expecting and half of us refused to admit was a possibility. Manchester United striker Robin van Persie will join Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce this summer, with manager Louis van Gaal deeming him surplus to requirements after a disappointing last season. There was surprisingly little interest from sides in the Premier League for the Dutchman, and no links at all to his former side Arsenal, but would he have been welcome back at the Emirates?

Arsenal in bid for AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong? 0

According to Ladbrokes, Arsenal are weighing up the unlikely possibility of signing AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong.

With the Serie A club having recently changed manager, hiring Flippo Inzaghi for the sacked Clarence Seedorf, rumours are suggesting that there will be uncertainty within the squad that could see a summer exodus. But it’s unknown how much the Netherlands international would even cost.

Nigel De Jong is one player who could be up for sale for the price, however. The 29-year-old made 33 appearances in the Italian league last season, scoring two goals and making three assists. He boasted a 91.4% pass completion and made 20 chances, so he would be somewhat of a useful player.
