Everything considered a 1-1 draw at PSG in the first game of their Champions League campaign was a good result for Arsenal. They rode their luck, as number two ‘keeper David Ospina made a number of saves.

It could have been a different story of Edinson Cavani had his shooting boots on. The Uruguayan may have only the scoring in the first minute, but he also missed some gilt-edged chances.

A draw at the top seeds

In truth, PSG are not one of the Champions League big hitters. They are not a Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, who tend to dominate Champions League games home and away. PSG are just a rung below those teams.

In truth, the Gunners draw could be difficult or it could be comfortable. How the side from north London do in the competition will be determined by their draw.

A comfortable draw last season

Talking about comfortable draws, last season looked to be a comfortable draw for the Gunners, as they were drawn alongside the likes of Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb, with Bayern Munich inevitable group winners of course.
