Arsene Wenger once again all but confirmed that Spanish striker Lucas Perez will not play a part in the forthcoming season after the former Deportivo La Coruna forward was left out of the squad for the Community Shield final against Chelsea.

Alexandre Lacazette led the line in attack from the kick-off whereas it was Olivier Giroud who got introduced in the second term with Lucas Perez failing to make it to the bench even.

Arsenal are looking to offload a number of their players and one of those is supposedly Spanish striker Lucas Perez. The 28-year-old only joined the Gunners from Deportivo La Coruna last summer for a fee of around £17million.

However, he struggled for game time with the club from north London and is now looking to move on in search of regular game time elsewhere.  According to TalkSport, a number of clubs are trailing the forward this summer.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal forward Lucas Perez is waiting to see if Deportivo’s bid to re-sign him will be accepted by the Gunners this summer. The Spanish attacker has been angling for an exit after a disappointing debut season at the Emirates Stadium and could be set for a return to Depor.

Perez’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has been critical of Arsenal, saying the Gunners were guilty of lying and mistreating the 28-year-old, while admitting frustration with the club stalling on Deportivo’s bid. “We have talked to everyone. Arsenal know we want to go, that there are no opportunities here, and within a year there is a World Cup,” said Lovelle.

Lucas Perez’s agent set for talks with Arsenal 0

According to the Metro and reports from Spain, the agent of Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has flown into London to discuss the striker’s future in north London.

The striker struggled for first team football last season after a £17million move from Deportivo La Coruna last summer. He has also suffered the indignity of losing his number nine shirt to summer signing Alexandre Lacazette without his knowledge.

A-bit part player

It is not a major surprise that Lucas Perez struggled for game time at Arsenal last season. His signing felt like a stopgap. The Spaniard was no better than the strikers who were already at the club and he was always going to find it difficult to play many minutes in the starting eleven.

Lucas Perez desperate to leave Arsenal this summer 0

Arsenal forward Lucas Perez has spoken out about his desire to leave in the summer, citing mistreatment and broken promises from manager Arsene Wenger since his arrival in 2016. According to Spanish wesbite La Voz de Galicia via Sky Sports, the Spaniard was talking to Arsenal’s transfer negotiator Dick Law and said he wants an exit as soon as possible.

“I want to leave, to play and be happy. Last year I barely had any opportunities and when I had them I took advantage of them. And this season is clearly going to be more of the same. I want to fight to go to the national team. I want to play football, but for that I have to leave. And I think that the best place for me is at home, with Depor.

Deportivo La Coruna offer a ten-year contract to Arsenal forward Lucas Perez 0

La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna have made an unusual proposal to Arsenal man Lucas Perez in effort to re-sign the forward and lure him back to his hometown club.

The 28-year-old Spanish striker endured a torrid time in London over the past season. Having joined Arsenal in August 2016 for a transfer fee believed to be in excess of €20 million, Lucas Perez struggled to hold down a starting place at the Gunners.

The Spaniard found his opportunities limited having started only two Premier League matches throughout the season and is believed to be looking for a way out of Arsenal in order to kick-start his career.

Arsenal demand £12.4m for Lucas Perez 0

Arsenal forward Lucas Perez has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer and Fotospor have reported the Gunners’ asking price for the Spaniards is £12.4m. Former side Deportivo La Coruna have shown an interest in Perez but Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are believed to lead the race for his signature.

With Arsenal determined not to take such a big hit on the £17m striker signed last summer, Depor have been priced out of the move and have spoken out about their frustration with a lack of negotiation. Perez made just two Premier League starts last season and has lost his shirt number for next season, highlighting that Arsenal don’t have a place for him in the team.

Deportivo manager admits the club want to re-sign Perez 0

Deportivo manager Pepe Mel has admitted his side are keen to bring Lucas Perez back to the Estadio Riazor this summer. The Arsenal forward is deemed surplus to requirements after hardly featuring in his debut season and an exit ahead of the upcoming campaign looks likely as a result.

“Everyone understands that Depor wants Lucas… I know Arsenal well … they do not give away anything, especially if they have paid more before. I told the president to work hard on plan B, because it will probably be the most feasible. But of course we would be waiting with open arms for Lucas because it would make us a team with many more options,” said Mel to AS.

Deportivo confident of Lucas Perez return 0

The arrival of French international striker Alexandre Lacazette has been interpreted as a clear message for out-of-favour Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, who is now set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 28-year-old Spanish striker Perez made just two Premier League starts after joining Gunners last summer in his £17 million transfer from La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna.

Having failed to impress and win his place in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up Lucas Perez is keen to leave Arsenal in order to play regularly and boost his chances of making it into Spain’s World Cup squad next season.

Would any of Arsenal’s strikers get into a top-six team? 0

Posted on June 20, 2017 by David Nugent

I was pondering the other day whether any of Arsenal’s strikers would get into any of their top-six rivals teams. When I say strikers, for the sake of argument take Chilean Alexis Sanchez out of the mix, as he does not always get used as a central striker.

That leaves us with Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Lucas Perez. The only one out of that trio who has not been linked with a summer move is Welbeck.

Rivals have better strikers
