Arsenal recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over non-league Lincoln City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday evening. The result will have brought slight relief for everybody connected with the club. A defeat against National League opposition would have caused major embarrassment.
A Lincoln win seemed unlikely, but Arsenal were visibly low on confidence in the first half of the game and did not take the lead until first-half stoppage time. The fact that the Gunners took so long to open the scoring against such inferior opposition tells its own story.

Arsenal avoided potential embarrassment on Saturday evening, as the Gunners hammered National League side 5-0 in the quarter-final of the FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium.
The visitors started in a spirited manner. However, it was the home side that had the first attempt on goal ten minutes. Hector Bellerin crossed to Aaron Ramsey on the edge of the area, only for the Welshman to side-foot an effort wide of goal.
The Gunners came close to taking the lead on 14 minutes, as Theo Walcott’s volley from the edge of the area was tipped onto the post by Lincoln goalkeeper Paul Farman. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez could start between the sticks against Lincoln City in Saturday afternoon’s FA Cup quarter-final clash, with second-choice David Ospina an injury doubt. The Colombian international reportedly had a minor problem after the midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich and has exacerbated the issue since.
Martinez has been used sparingly this season, featuring only in the EFL Cup, so drafting him in would be a gamble. Despite Lincoln being a Conference side, they’ve shown they’re more than a most for any side in the FA Cup on their day, dispatching of the likes of Ipswich Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley in the third round, fourth round and last-16 respectively. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal head into this clash on the back of a 5-1 home defeat against German giants Bayern Munich in the last-16 of the Champions League. It is not particularly pleasant to see your name chanted in a disrespectful manner, but Arsene Wenger has paid little attention to critics who have been calling for the Frenchman to be sacked over the long period now.
Things have changed for the Arsenal boss, who admits that ‘Wenger Out’ protests have begun to bother him, adding that supporters who are protesting against him staying beyond the current campaign will be a factor into his decision making regarding a new contract.
“It will not be the most important [factor] but I will consider it of course. It is difficult for me to judge [the level of the protests].”, he said. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal striker Lucas Perez was overlooked when manager Arsene Wenger had to replace Danny Welbeck minutes before Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, but the Spaniard is expected to feature in Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Lincoln City.
Perez has been reduced to substitute appearances all season after signing from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer, but he has performed well in recent weeks that may have edged himself higher up the pecking order. The Arsenal No.9 has scored and created four goals in his last nine appearances (372 minutes), and netted in the previous round of the FA Cup. .......Read more here.....
