First off: we thoroughly apologise for the title, but if we hadn’t of gone for it, then we probably would’ve hated ourselves forever.

Some people know and others don’t, but Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk has actually been linked to Arsenal a handful of times now. The 26-year-old, who is a hometown hero of sorts, has been at the club since 2010 with many long-since believing that he deserved a move to one of the Premier League’s elite. Alas, it seems as if for now, he’ll have to wait and see what happens throughout the remainder of his tenure with the Seagulls.

Arsenal suffered another bad day at the office on Sunday afternoon, as the Gunners went down 2-1 at Brighton, with a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goal the Gunners only consolation from their trip to the south coast.

Arsenal offered the first attacking threat on three minutes, as Mesut Ozil curled an effort over the bar from the edge of the Brighton area. Two minutes later, the visitors threatened again. Lewis Dunk hooked Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross just wide of his own goal.

However, the home side took the lead on seven minutes. Shane Duffy beat Petr Cech in the air from a corner kick and his centre-back partner Dunk poked home from inside the area.
