Could Sanchez-Draxler January swap deal be on? 0

Posted on October 04, 2017 by David Nugent

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are looking to swap wantaway Alexis Sanchez with PSG’s Julian Draxler in January. Sanchez is of course out of contract next summer and is not signing a new deal with the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Germany international Julian Draxler has found himself out of favour in Paris after the summer arrivals Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, two of the most highly-rated attacking players in Europe.

This deal would make financial sense

If we are looking at this from a purely financial sense, it would be a good deal. Arsenal will receive absolutely nothing if Sanchez leaves in the summer and it would take mega money to replace the Chilean.

Failing to sign Mbappe is the story of Wenger in recent years 0

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has down the years scouted most of the best stars in European football. He has not signed many of them, but was highly aware of all them and came close to signing them.

The way Wenger talks sometimes it sounds like he has known the players since they were babies. For once, though, a star has claimed that Arsenal were a ‘real option for me’. That young star is France wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old joined big spending French giants PSG on deadline day on loan. He will be making a reported £165million move to the French capital next summer. However, it seems Mbappe did consider Arsenal as a viable option.

Premier League giants Arsenal ended the summer transfer window with only two new faces arriving at the Emirates – Sead Kolasinac from Schalke and Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.

Gunners were linked with a number of players, however, including the talented Frenchman Kylian Mbappe and his former AS Monaco teammate Thomas Lemar among others.

Speaking on the French football programme Telefoot, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed his interest in the pair. And while the new PSG star Kylian Mbappe was never a realistic target for Arsenal, Lemar was the subject of no less than three bids from the north London-based club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied making a world record bid for AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, insisting to Arsenal.com that the French international will stay at the Stade Louis II next season.

When asked if Mbappe would stay, he replied: “It looks like that. Maybe he had too much choice, so in the end people don’t move.” And after being asked about the reported world record bid made by Arsenal, Wenger said: “That’s not true. People have big imaginations.

Arsenal have been linked with Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe throughout the summer, reportedly having a bid of around £87m rejected. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has gone to extreme lengths to secure his signature.

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger faced media on Tuesday morning shortly after arriving in Australia on a pre-season tour.

the French tactician addressed a number of topics in his press conference but the media were most interested in finding out if the Gunner will be making any further signings this summer.

The North London club have already bolstered their ranks by adding former Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac and Lyon star striker Alexandre Lacazette, but Arsene Wenger is expected to add a couple of more names as he looks to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.

No chance of Arsenal paying £125million for Kevin Mbappe 1

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are set to launch a world-record £125million bid for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The story seems like a fairytale from a journalist with too much time on his hands or after a few too many drinks. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hates to part with money, so for the French boss to part with that sort of money for one player, albeit a highly rated player seems ridiculous.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is prepared to pay around £40million for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, according to the Daily Mail.

Any move for the young Frenchman will depend on whether the Gunners can nab Monaco’s star striker Kylian Mbappe, which seems unlikely as most of Europe’s top teams are interested in signing the wonderkid.

Out of favour at United

Martial has not quite lived up to his potential since arriving at the club from Monaco in the summer of 2015 for a fee that could eventually reach an eye-watering £57.6 million.

Emmanuel Petit says he wants to see Mbappe at the Emirates next season 0

Former Arsenal midfielder and football pundit Emmanuel Petit is hoping AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe will join Arsenal this summer. The French international has enjoyed a standout campaign at the Stade Louis II and is coveted by a number of clubs in Europe – Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Scoring 15 goals in 17 Ligue 1 starts for Monaco last season, having led the club to the title and Champions League semi-final. He’s one of many players expected to leave in the next 12 months and Petit hopes Arsenal are the beneficiary. “Mbappe is the leader of this generation,” he said on talkSPORT, reports the Daily Star.

Some major questions need to be answered by Wenger this summer 0

Here we are at the beginning of another summer at Arsenal under veteran French boss Arsene Wenger. Last season was a poor one in terms of the Premier League, as the Gunners failed to finish in the top-four for the first time in a decade.

However, the Gunners also won the FA Cup for the third time in just four seasons. The FA Cup triumph has not papered over the cracks at the Emirates.

Arsenal were simply not good enough last season and the majority of the fans know that, even if Wenger likes to bury his head in the sand.
