The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger faced media on Tuesday morning shortly after arriving in Australia on a pre-season tour.

the French tactician addressed a number of topics in his press conference but the media were most interested in finding out if the Gunner will be making any further signings this summer.

The North London club have already bolstered their ranks by adding former Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac and Lyon star striker Alexandre Lacazette, but Arsene Wenger is expected to add a couple of more names as he looks to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.

No chance of Arsenal paying £125million for Kevin Mbappe 1

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are set to launch a world-record £125million bid for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The story seems like a fairytale from a journalist with too much time on his hands or after a few too many drinks. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hates to part with money, so for the French boss to part with that sort of money for one player, albeit a highly rated player seems ridiculous.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is prepared to pay around £40million for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, according to the Daily Mail.

Any move for the young Frenchman will depend on whether the Gunners can nab Monaco’s star striker Kylian Mbappe, which seems unlikely as most of Europe’s top teams are interested in signing the wonderkid.

Out of favour at United

Martial has not quite lived up to his potential since arriving at the club from Monaco in the summer of 2015 for a fee that could eventually reach an eye-watering £57.6 million.

He’s one of many players expected to leave in the next 12 months and Petit hopes Arsenal are the beneficiary. “Mbappe is the leader of this generation,” he said on talkSPORT, reports the Daily Star.

Some major questions need to be answered by Wenger this summer 0

Here we are at the beginning of another summer at Arsenal under veteran French boss Arsene Wenger. Last season was a poor one in terms of the Premier League, as the Gunners failed to finish in the top-four for the first time in a decade.

However, the Gunners also won the FA Cup for the third time in just four seasons. The FA Cup triumph has not papered over the cracks at the Emirates.

Arsenal were simply not good enough last season and the majority of the fans know that, even if Wenger likes to bury his head in the sand.

AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe reportedly has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, after recently revealing Los Blancos have been interested in him for many years, the Daily Mail reports. Mbappe admitted Real made an approach when he was 14, but said his future will be decided by his family as well as himself.

“We’re going to go away with the family and we’ll think about what’s going to happen. We have to sort it out, see what happens with the club too, because I’m under contract with a club, I’m not free. We’ll see what’s happening,” he said. Kylian Mbappe is 3/1 to join Arsenal this summer but the financial power of Real might be a deciding factor.

The British tabloids have reported that Arsenal have made a big-money bid for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe. However, it turns out Arsenal have not, in fact, made a big for the teenager, but are interested in signing the striker this summer.

According to the Express, the Gunners may now turn their attention to Mbappe’s Monaco teammate Thomas Lemar, who has also impressed in Monaco’s title-winning campaign.

Lemar was a key player in French title win

Young winger Lemar was a key player in Leonardo Jardim’s team Ligue One title victory. The 21-year-old scored nine goals and ten assists in the French top-flight. His tally of 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions was even more impressive.

If reports from usually reliable French media outlet L’Equipe are to be believed in, Arsene Wenger has apparently prepared to make a strong statement of intent.

Arsenal have reportedly offered £90 million for AS Monaco hot talent Kylian Mbappe, who burst onto the stage this season with his impressive performances for the French champions.

The 18-year-old French forward quickly emerged as one of the hottest prospects in world football after an impressive campaign with the Principality club during which he netted 26 goals and provided 8 assists in 45 competitive appearances.
