Posted on August 20, 2017 by Crippy Cooke

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly been offered to Italian Serie A side AC Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport via Football Italia. The 25-year-old is currently stepping up his recovery after suffering a leg fracture in April last season, featuring for the Arsenal U23s on Monday and helping them to victory over Derby.

But his future with the Gunners is unknown. Manager Arsene Wenger says he wants to have Wilshere stay at the club, but the talented midfielder might have to leave the Emirates to get regular playing time this season. Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin are all ahead of Wilshere in the pecking order.

Riso tipped him for Premier League football in the future, but also stressed how important it is to focus on developing with Udinese. Speaking to Sport Italia, he said: “Arsenal like him, he’s a lover of English football, and he’s also liked by Juve, Inter and other teams,” reports FourFourTwo.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are willing to sell midfielder Jack Wilshere this summer, but only for the right price. The English international has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium as a result of a lack of playing time, and West Ham United are reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Wilshere has been rated at £20m by Arsenal but has been subject of a £6.5m bid from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria, which is believed to have been rejected. The playmaker is out of contract next summer so Arsenal will be forced to either sell him or extend his stay.

According to the Sun, Arsenal have raised Wojciech Szczesny’s asking price from £13m to £20m after seeing Sunderland sell Jordan Pickford for £30m to Everton this summer. Juventus are keen on the Arsenal goalkeeper to be Gianluigi Buffon’s understudy but made a bid of £5m that was quickly knocked back.

The Serie A champions are expected to make an improved offer with the Polish international reportedly attracting interest from a number of other clubs in the Italian top-flight. Szczesny has become one of the best goalkeepers in Europe after two successful seasons on loan with AS Roma, and he finds himself the subject of interest as a result.

Should Arsenal have signed Douglas Costa? 0

Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa is close to a move to the Italian Serie A, with the Brazilian is 1/6 to join Juventus this summer. According to The Sun, the two European giants have reportedly agreed a £35m deal. But given Arsenal are desperate for attacking reinforcements due to the players potentially leaving ahead of the new season, why didn’t the Gunners try to sign Costa?

The 26-year-old lost his place in the Bayern side last season after a fallout with the club over his contract. He made just 23 Bundesliga appearances under manager Carlo Ancelotti, scoring and creating seven goals. Signed from Ukrainian side Shakhtar in 2015, Costa was an ever-present in his maiden season in the Bundesliga but he’s set to move on.

Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has turned down interest from Arsenal to sign for AS Roma, according to the Metro. The 25-year-old joined the Italian Serie A giants for £30m and signed a five-year-deal. Nice are believed to be holding out for £35m but personal terms have been agreed and the deal should be concluded soon enough.

Seri, a transfer target for Spanish La Liga side Barcelona, made 34 Ligue 1 appearances for Nice last season, scoring seven goals and making nine assists. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger travelled to Nice with chief executive Ivan Gazidis to try and broker a deal for the midfielder, but the Gunners were unsuccessful procuring his signature.

Arsenal have reportedly spoken to Juventus about midfielder Mario Lemina’s availability, with a view to making a bid this summer. The 23-year-old has failed to hold down a starting place in Turin and is keen to join a side promising more game time as a result.

The Gabon international made just eight starts in the Italian Serie A last season, coming off the bench 11 times, and is consequently expected to be on his way out of the club. Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri says Arsenal have held initial talks with the Serie A champions, reports the Daily Star.

Juventus to sign Wojciech Szczesny to be long-term replacement for Buffon 0

Posted on June 10, 2017 by Crippy Cooke

According to The Sun, Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is set to join Juventus this summer to initially be Gianluigi Buffon’s understudy and eventual replacement. The Polish international return to Arsenal after two year in the Italian Serie A with AS Roma and is believed to have impressed so much that the Old Lady have taken a punt on him.

Szczesny, who has just one year left on his Arsenal deal, made 38 league appearances last season, keeping 14 clean sheets. He was keen to fight for a starting place at parent club Arsenal after having lost his place under manager Arsene Wenger due to indiscipline. However, the stiff competition for places meant he’d be better off looking elsewhere and the perennial Serie A champions are certainly an attractive proposition.

Could Szczesny be on his way to Dortmund in the summer? 0

Posted on February 23, 2017 by Crippy Cooke

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is reportedly the subject of interest from a number of European sides, but Borussia Dortmund are said to be leading the chase for his signature. The Polish international has been on loan with AS Roma for two seasons, but the Serie A giants may not be able to match his agreed fee of £13M to make the deal permanent.

With Petr Cech and David Ospina as first and second choice at Arsenal, Szczesny has stiff competitions for a starting place if he returns to his parent club, and the 26-year-old may well be open to a move away from the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season as a result. Juventus and Napoli are two sides keen on the goalkeeper, but perhaps not to be an immediate regular.
