Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal, according to reports.

The Serbian star player is attracting plenty of interest from some of Europe’s top sides and the following summer is expected to bring quite a tussle for the 28-year-old midfielder.

If reports from the Spanish media outlet El Desmarque are to be believed, Dusan Tadic is currently eyed by Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, whereas Arsenal and Manchester City are the two Premier League clubs keen on the Serbian international.

Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic has emerged as the potential summer target for Arsenal, according to reports from the Italian press.

The Serbian international is coming off from another successful international break which saw him score and record two assists in Serbia’s 3-1 2018 World Cup qualifying win at Georgia.

Dusan Tadic has once again proven his class and worth for his international team, while at the same time catching the eye of several Europe’s high profile clubs who appear to be monitoring the 28-year-old.

Arsenal recorded a last-gasp 2-1 home win over Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as Santi Cazorla’s stoppage-time penalty won maximum points for the Gunners.

The game started in lively style, but there were no real threats on goal until the 18th minute when the visitors took the lead. It was a fortune effort.

Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic clipped a free-kick over the Arsenal wall hit from 20 yards out, which Petr Cech tipped onto the underside of the bar only for the ball to rebound off Cech back and into the goal.

Southampton claimed a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at St Marys on New Years Day, courtesy of goals from Mane and Dusan Tadic.

The first chance of the game came on seven minutes. Dusan Tadic found Graziano Pelle with a superb cross and the Italian’s header went just wide of Wojciech Szczesny’s goal. A minute later Alexis Sanchez picked the ball up from Santi Cazorla and from 20 yards hit a low effort saved well by Fraser Forster.

On 11 minutes Saints midfielder Victor Wanyama saw a first time effort blocked by a Gunners defender. Then a minute later Mathieu Debuchy fired a volley straight at Szczesny from the edge of the area.

Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Southampton in the third round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

The game took a while to get going, but the first attempt on goal came from Saints midfielder Steven Davis, who saw an effort from the centre of the box saved by David Ospina.

On 12 minutes the Gunners had their first attempt on goal, as Tomas Rosicky’s header from inside the box was saved by Fraser Forster in the Southampton goal.
